The Kuwait Hockey League is the national ice hockey league in Kuwait and the 68th member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. [1] Four teams participated in the 2008-2009 season, and the top two teams met in the final, won by Kuwait (Kuwait City).

The Ice Hockey World Championships are an annual international men's ice hockey tournament organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). First officially held at the 1920 Summer Olympics. The IIHF was created in 1908 while the European Championships, the precursor to the World Championships, were first held in 1910. The tournament held at the 1920 Summer Olympics is recognized as the first Ice Hockey World Championship. From 1920 to 1968, the Olympic hockey tournament was also considered the World Championship for that year.

The Arab Cup of Ice Hockey is an international ice hockey competition involving national teams from Arab nations, and has been organized by the Arab Ice Hockey Federation, the governing body for nations in the Middle East and North Africa. The tournament's inaugural edition was held in the United Arab Emirates from 16 to 20 June 2008, which was won by the hosts United Arab Emirates. The 2009 edition was planned to be held in Kuwait, but was cancelled. The 2023 edition was held in Kuwait from 7 to 13 May 2023.

The 2011 IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia was the 4th IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, an annual international ice hockey tournament held by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It took place between April 25 and April 30, 2011 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Last years winner, Chinese Taipei did not field a team to defend their title. The tournament was won by Hong Kong, who claimed their first title after winning all five of their games.

The IIHF Development Cup is an annual international ice hockey tournament sanctioned by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It is designed for national teams that do not compete in the IIHF World Championships. Since countries are required to have an Olympic-size ice rink and a domestic league to play in the World Championships, the Development Cup is the highest-level international tournament available to many IIHF members.
