Kwame Augustine (born 19 August 1989) is a British actor, screenwriter, producer and director. Raised in Thamesmead, London, he made his creative debut in theatre before expanding into film, television and immersive audio projects. He is best known for the dark comedy pilot Johnny: The Life of an Oxymoron, [1] the award-nominated short film Locked-In, [2] and television appearances on BBC One’s Doctors, [3] and Sandylands . [4]
Kwame Augustine was born on 19 August 1989 in East London and grew up in Thamesmead. He developed an early interest in storytelling and performance while at local community theatres.[ citation needed ]
In August 2016, Augustine wrote, directed, and produced the one-man play, Johnny: The Life of an Oxymoron, staged at Bridewell Theatre in London as part of Theatre Royal Stratford East’s New Writers Programme. [5]
Augustine created the audio series, The Novelist, which reached Amazon’s Top 20 Bestsellers in audio playbooks. [12] He has also narrated audiobooks such as Grime: Brainfuck, [13] and Aphrodite and the Duke. [14]
