The  Kwara State House of Assembly is the legislative arm of the government of Kwara State of Nigeria. [1] [2] It is a unicameral legislature having 24 members elected from the 16 local government areas of the state. Local government areas with considerable lager population are delineated into two constituencies to give equal representation. This makes the number of legislators in the Kwara State House of Assembly 24. [3]

The fundamental functions of the Assembly are to enact new laws, amend or repeal existing laws and oversight of the executive. [4] [5] Members of the assembly are elected for a term of four years concurrent with federal legislators (Senate and House of Representatives). The state assembly convenes three times a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) in the assembly complex within the state capital, Ilorin.

The current leaders of the 10th Kwara State House of Assembly is Salihu Yakubu-Danladi (Speaker) and Ojo Olayiwola Oyebode (Deputy Speaker). [6] [7] Oba Abdulkadir Magaji (House leader) and Abdulraheem Medinat Motunrayo (Deputy). [8] Kareem Ahmed Olayiwola (Clerk). [9]

Offa is a city in Kwara State of Nigeria, with a population of about 166,112 inhabitants. The town is noted for its weaving and dyeing trade, using vegetable dyes made from locally grown indigo and other plants. Offa is well known for the cultivation of sweet potatoes and maize which also formed part of the favourite staple foods for the indigenes in the town. Cattle, goats and sheep are also raised there. The main religions practiced in the town are Islam, Christianity and traditional religions.

International Aviation College, Ilorin is an aviation training school in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The college was established in 2011 by the Kwara State Government through a public private partnership with an aviation consult. The college is located along Airport road, Ilorin and is very close to the Ilorin international airport. The college has trained over 110 pilots since its establishment. The college appoints AVM Abdul Yekini Bello (rtd) as new rector on 1 March 2022.

The Taraba State House of Assembly is a branch of the Government of Taraba State, which serves as the legislative house where all legislative decisions and lawmaking for the governance of Taraba State is emanating. Salihu Yakubu-Danladi is a Nigerian engineer and politician who was elected speaker of the 9th Kwara State House of Assembly in 2019.

The 2019 Kwara State gubernatorial election occurred on March 9, 2019. APC's AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq polled 73.12% of the total votes, ahead of PDP's Razak Atunwa who got 25.31% of votes trailing behind by a margin of 216,792 votes, and several minor party candidates. APC won in all 16 LGAs of the state.

The 2023 Kwara State gubernatorial election will take place on 18 March 2023, to elect the Governor of Kwara State, concurrent with elections to the Kwara State House of Assembly as well as twenty-seven other gubernatorial elections and elections to all other state houses of assembly. The election—which was postponed from its original 11 March date—will be held three weeks after the presidential election and National Assembly elections. Incumbent APC Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has been renominated by his party.
