Kwasi Kyei Darkwah popularly known as KKD (born December 19, 1965 is a Ghanaian broadcaster, Master of Ceremonies, media, culture and tourism expert. [1]

Early life

KKD was born on 19 December 1965 in Tema to Opanin Kwasi Darkwah and Ohemaa Ama Asokwa Kyei Darkwah of royal lineage. [2]

Education

Darkwah holds a Master of Arts Degree in Audio-Visual Production (Film & Television) from London Metropolitan University, a Diploma in Journalism from Ghana Institute of Journalism, a Certificate in Marketing Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, a Certificate in Production and Cost Management from the Association of Overseas Technical Scholarship of Japan, a Certificate in Marketing Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and a Certificate in Delivering Learning to Adults from [Westminster Adult Education Service, London. He had his second cycle education at Ghana's prestigious second cycle institution, Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School - Legon (PRESEC), Accra.

Career

KKD started as a broadcast journalist at the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. He has held positions including Director of Public Communications at the Ghana Investment Promotion Council, Director of Programmes & Marketing at Sunshine Radio, General Manager of record company Megastar Limited, Account Manager for Corporate Healthcare at Gissings Consultancy Services in London. He also was Advertising & Promotions Manager at ABC Brewery Ltd. [3]

Rape charge

He was arrested on 27 December 2014 following a report accusing him of raping a 19-year-old woman in the bathroom of the African Regent Hotel in Accra, Ghana. He was formally charged with rape. [4] [5]

On 12 January 2015, the 19-year-old alleged victim expressed her disinterest in pursuing the case. Darwkah was freed and the rape charge against him was dropped on 22 April 2015 after the Attorney General entered a nolle prosequi for the case. [6]

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) is a public co-educational university spread over four campuses and made up of six schools, ten research centers located at Greenhill in Accra, Ghana. The location of GIMPA, Greenhill, was named by Nicholas T. Clerk who served as the Rector of the Institute from 1977 to 1982. The name, "Greenhill", is a reference to the lush greenery and hilly topography of the main campus, as well as its location in Legon which was historically on the periphery of the Ghanaian capital, Accra. Together with 200 state institutions, GIMPA successfully participated in a Public Sector Reform Programme under the auspices of the World Bank and became a self-financing institution as part of the National Institutional Reform Programme in 2001. It was established as a public university by an Act of Parliament in 2004. The institute was established in 1961 by the Government of Ghana with assistance from the United Nations Special Fund Project and was initially called the Institute of Public Administration, intended as a specialist training graduate school for civil servants in Ghana. The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) formerly known as Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), is a public university in Ghana. The main campus is located in Accra. Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana

The Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana was founded on December 19, 1935 out of the former Gold Coast Pharmacists and Druggists Union and the Chemists Defense Association which had existed before 1929.
