The Ontario Hockey League is one of the three major junior ice hockey leagues which constitute the Canadian Hockey League. The league is for players aged 16–20. There are currently 20 teams in the OHL: seventeen in Ontario, two in Michigan, and one in Pennsylvania.
The Mississauga IceDogs were a Canadian junior ice hockey team in Mississauga, Ontario. They played in the Ontario Hockey League from 1998 to 2007. A sale relocated the team to St. Catharines, Ontario for the 2007–08 season and they are now called the Niagara IceDogs.
Andrew James Bathgate was a Canadian professional ice hockey right wing who played 17 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins between 1952 and 1971. In 2017 Bathgate was named one of the "100 Greatest NHL Players" in history.
The Barrie Colts are a junior ice hockey team in Ontario Hockey League (OHL), based in Barrie, Ontario, Canada. The Colts play home games at the Sadlon Arena. The Colts joined the OHL in 1995, and previously competed at lower levels of junior ice hockey. During the 1999–2000 OHL season, the Colts won the J. Ross Robertson Cup and participated in the 2000 Memorial Cup.
The Toronto St. Michael's Majors were a Canadian major junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League, based in Toronto, Ontario. The most recent franchise was revived on August 15, 1996. In 2007, the team relocated to Mississauga, Ontario and became the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors until 2012. The hockey program was founded and operated by St. Michael's College School in 1906, and adopted the name "Majors" in 1934, and was commonly referred to as St. Mike's Majors.
Michael Henrich is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. An NHL first-round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 1998, Henrich played several years of professional hockey in North America before moving to professional hockey in Europe. Henrich is the first Jewish player to be selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft, and the only player taken in the first round of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft who did not play a regular season game in the National Hockey League.
The Niagara IceDogs are a major junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League based in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. The franchise was originally known as the Mississauga IceDogs and founded in 1996. The team was relocated to St. Catharines and played its inaugural season in the Niagara region during the 2007–08 OHL season after nine seasons in Mississauga. In 2022 the team was acquired by majority owner Darren DeDobbelaer and minority owner Wayne Gretzky.
Red Bull Crashed Ice was a world tour in ice cross downhill, a winter extreme sporting event which involves downhill skating in an urban environment, on a track which includes steep turns and high vertical drops. Racers speed down the course's turns, berms, and jumps. Competitors, having advanced from one of the tryouts in the prior months, race in heats of four skaters, with the top two advancing from each heat. The events were held from 2001 to 2019; the ATSX now oversees ice cross downhill events.
The Brampton Steelheads are a Canadian junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), based in Brampton, Ontario. The Steelheads play their home games at the CAA Centre in Brampton. The team relocated from nearby Mississauga in 2024. As the Mississauga Steelheads, the team previously won the Emms Trophy as regular season champions of the Central division and the Bobby Orr Trophy as playoffs champions of the Eastern conference during the 2016–17 OHL season.
William Christian Dutton is a world class Canadian speed skater. He participated in the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
Catherine White is a Canadian ice hockey player. White has competed for Hockey Canada in numerous international tournaments. Currently, she is a member of the Cornell Big Red. Of note, she scored the first goal in the history of the Canadian National Women's Under 18 program.
Nicholas Ritchie is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward for HC Nové Zámky in the Slovak Extraliga. Ritchie was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the first round, tenth overall, of the 2014 NHL entry draft. Ritchie has also played for the Boston Bruins, Arizona Coyotes, Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Oulun Kärpät and the Iserlohn Roosters.
Ice cross downhill is a winter extreme sporting event which involves direct competitive downhill skating on a walled track featuring sharp turns and high vertical drops. Ice cross downhill is similar to ski cross and boardercross, except with ice skates on an ice track, instead of using skis or snowboards on a snow track.
Robert Fabbri is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted in the first round, 21st overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
Amanda Trunzo is a former women's ice hockey player from Minnesota. In the NCAA, she competed for the Dartmouth Big Green and was also named to the USA U-22 National team in 2010. She competes in Red Bull Crashed Ice and was the first American to become the World Champion in 2017–18. She won the World Championship again in 2018–19.
Jacqueline Legere is a Canadian stuntwoman and icecross downhill athlete currently competing in Red Bull Crashed Ice. During the 2016 season, Legere finished atop the Crashed Ice standings, emerging as the women’s world champion. When not competing in ice cross downhill, Legere is employed as a stuntwoman.
Akil Thomas is a Canadian-American professional ice hockey centre for the Ontario Reign in the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Los Angeles Kings. In the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Thomas drafted in the second round, 51st overall, by Los Angeles.

Salla Kyhälä, is a retired elite Finnish ringette player and world champion in both ringette and ice cross downhill. She played semi-pro ringette as a centre for Espoon Kiekkoseura in the elite Finnish semi-professional league, SM Ringette and the Saskatoon Wild and BC Thunder in Canada's semi-pro National Ringette League. Kyhälä was also member of the Finland national ringette team several times.
