Kyungu is a traditional authority in Karonga District in the Northern Region of Malawi. It is mainly inhabited by the Ngonde. [1]
The current paramount Chief is Paramount Chief Kyungu Nsangalufu Clement Mwakabanga III that was elevated to this position by President Joyce Banda. [2] There has been some controversies surrounding him and paramount Chief Karonga in recent years as a result of changes in administration and politics.
