Kalman Menyhart (born 15 July 1955) is a Hungarian football manager and a former player who played as a goalkeeper. [1]

Career

Menyhart was born in Budapest. He was the goalkeeper with whom, on 24 May 1980, the Honvéd Budapest F.C won again the Hungarian Championship since 1955. On this day, the Honvéd Budapest F.C. defeated the team of Szekesfehervari MAV Elore (2–0). #1 Menyhart, #2 Paroczai, #3 Kocsis, #4 Varga, #5 Nagy, #6 Garaba, #10 Gyimesi, #9 Weimper, #7 Bodonyi, #8 Dajka, #16 Esterhazy, and #11 Kozma was the team composition and Lajos Tichy was the coach.

In January 1983, his arm was broken while playing an exhibition game against Hertha BSC in the Olympic Stadium of Berlin. Due to this unfortunate injury, he wasn't able to play for the Hungary national team. He was unable to play for over 300 games and had to sit on the bench until his injury was completely healed.

At age 33, he left Hungary to play in Belgium, became Belgian Citizen, and acquired the Coach - Assistant Coach - Youth Soccer Coach Diplomas from the Federal School of Belgian Royal Union of Football Association.

Gusztáv Sebes was a Hungarian footballer, who played as a midfielder, and became a well-known coach later. Zoltán Czibor was a Hungarian footballer who played for several Hungarian clubs, including Ferencváros and Budapest Honvéd, and the Hungary national team before joining CF Barcelona. Czibor played as a left-winger or striker and was notable for having a powerful shot, good pace and excellent ball control. During the 1950s he was part of the Magical Magyars, reaching the World Cup final with them in 1954. After the 1956 Hungarian Revolution he moved to Spain where he became a prominent member of the successful FC Barcelona team of the late 1950s. After three seasons at Barcelona, he joined their local rivals Español for the 1961–62 season. After brief spells at FC Basel, Austria Wien and Primo Hamilton FC, he retired as a professional footballer and returned to Hungary. He died there in 1997, aged 68.

Gyula Grosics was a Hungarian football goalkeeper who played 86 times for the Hungary national football team and was part of the "Golden Team" of the 1950s. Regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, he was thought to be the first goalkeeper to play as the sweeper-keeper. Grosics was nicknamed "Black Panther", because he wore black clothing while playing. He won a gold medal in football at the 1952 Summer Olympics.

Lajos Tichy, nicknamed "The Nation's Bomber", was a Hungarian footballer who played as a forward. He is the most prolific goalscorer in total matches in recorded history according to RSSSF with over 1917 goals scored in over 1307 matches and the most prolific goalscorer in total matches in one season in recorded history according to RSSSF with 201 goals scored in 85 matches. He played for the club Budapest Honvéd FC, scoring 247 goals in 320 league games. He also scored 51 goals in 72 internationals for the Hungary national football team, including four in the 1958 FIFA World Cup and three in the 1962 FIFA World Cup. He later became coach of the Honvéd youth team and from 1976 to 1982 he coached the first team, helping them win their first Hungarian championship in 25 years in 1980.
