A leveraged buyout (LBO) is a financial transaction in which a company is purchased with a combination of equity and debt, such that the company's cash flow is the collateral used to secure and repay the borrowed money. The use of debt, which normally has a lower cost of capital than equity, serves to reduce the overall cost of financing the acquisition. The cost of debt is lower inter alia because interest payments often reduce corporate income tax liability, whereas dividend payments normally do not. This reduced cost of financing allows greater gains to accrue to the equity, and, as a result, the debt serves as a lever to increase the returns to the equity.

It is currently the largest airline in Sri Lanka by number of aircraft and destinations, and was launched in 1979 as Air Lanka following the termination of operations of the original Sri Lankan flag carrier Air Ceylon. Following its partial acquisition in 1998 by Emirates, it was re-branded and introduced the current livery. In 2008 the government of Sri Lanka acquired all the shares of the airline from Emirates.After ending the Emirates partnership, it has continued using its re-branded name and logo. The airline did not change the branding after government acquired majority stakes from Emirates in 2008.

Separamadu Lasith Malinga, is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer and current Limited Overs Cricket Captain for Sri Lanka. He bowls right-arm fast-medium, is commonly used as a specialist death bowler, and is well known for his distinctive round-arm action, sometimes referred to as a sling action, which leads to his nicknames, "Slinga Malinga" and "Malinga the Slinga". Considered as one of the greatest limited-overs bowlers of all time, Malinga's unorthodox action and dipping slower ball yorkers are credited with much of his success.

The Sri Lankan cricket team toured England in the 1998 season. On the tour they played 4 first-class matches, 5 List A matches and a single Test match. They also competed in a tri-series tournament against England and South Africa, entitled the Emirates Triangular Tournament. They won the competition by defeating England in the final, also beating South Africa in the group stage. They won the only Test, with Muttiah Muralitharan taking a career best 16/220 - the 5th best bowling figures in a match in Test cricket history.
Lanka Hospitals, formerly known as Apollo Hospitals Colombo is a multi-specialty tertiary care hospital in Sri Lanka and is one of the largest private hospitals in the country. It is situated on Elvitigala Mawatha, also known as Baseline Road, which is a direct route from the Colombo’s international airport. It is also only a few minutes drive from central Colombo. The hospital was commissioned in 2002 as a branch of Apollo Hospitals India. The hospital was taken over by Sri Lanka Insurance in 2006. In 2009, it was renamed Lanka Hospitals after it ended a licensing and support services agreement with Apollo Hospitals.
DHC Ladies Bowling Tour (DHCレディースオープンボウリングツアー) was a Japan-based bowling tour for women bowlers. The Tour hosted a series of four to five tournaments each year throughout Japan. The tournaments were open to both professionals and amateurs. The Tour's corporate sponsor was DHC Corporation, a maker of cosmetics and health food supplements. The CEO of DHC is Yoshiaki Yoshida - one of the biggest supporters of the sport of bowling in Japan. DHC LBT started up in 2005, and was sanctioned by the Japan Professional Bowling Association (JPBA).
Hiroko Shimizu is a Japanese female professional ten-pin bowler. She is a member of the Ladies Bowling Organization of Japan, license no. 1. In April 2010, Shimizu officially resigned from the Japan Professional Bowling Association (JPBA), and joined the LBO. She currently holds the office of vice-chairperson with the LBO.

Andreas Mitisek is the Artistic and General Director of Long Beach Opera, a position he has held since 2003 and from 2012-2016 was the General Director of Chicago Opera Theater. Since his conducting debut with the company in Henry Purcell's The Indian Queen in 1998, Mitisek has since served as conductor, stage director and designer for many Long Beach Opera productions.
