Roller derby is a roller skating contact sport played by two teams of fifteen members. Roller derby is played by approximately 1,250 amateur leagues worldwide, mostly in the United States.
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) is the international governing body for the sport of women's flat track roller derby, and association of leagues around the world. The organization was founded in April 2004 as the United Leagues Coalition (ULC), but was renamed in November 2005. It is registered in Raleigh, North Carolina as a 501(c)(6) business league organization, a type of nonprofit organization.
Madison Roller Derby (MRD), founded as "Mad Rollin' Dolls", is a women's flat-track roller derby league based in Madison, Wisconsin. Founded in 2004, Madison is a founding member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA), and was the fourth league to join the fledgling organization. Since 2006, Madison has qualified for the WFTDA post-season every year, including three appearances at WFTDA Championships.
Gotham Roller Derby is a flat track roller derby league based in New York City, New York. Founded in late 2003, Gotham is the first flat track roller derby league in the metropolitan New York area and a founding member league of the sport's governing body, the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Gotham is one of the preeminent leagues in roller derby, having won five WFTDA Championships. Today, the league is composed of four New York City-based teams, three travel teams, a competitive developmental team, a non competitive recreational program and a juniors program for youth.
The Dallas Derby Devils (DDD) is an all-female flat track roller derby league in Dallas, Texas and surrounding area of Ft. Worth, Texas. Founded in November 2004, the Dallas Derby Devils is the original North Texas roller derby league with a current roster of over one hundred active skaters, making DDD one of the largest flat track derby leagues in the south United States. The Dallas Derby Devils are an original member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
Hellions of Troy Roller Derby (HoTRD) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in the Capital District in New York State. Founded in 2008, the league is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
Jacksonville Roller Derby is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Jacksonville, Florida, (USA). Originally formed as the First Coast Fatales, the league became Jacksonville RollerGirls in 2007, and changed to its current name in 2018. The league has been a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) since December 2010.
The WFTDA's East Region was formed in 2006.
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association's (WFTDA) West Region was formed in 2006. In 2009, teams from the eastern part of the region were moved into the North Central and South Central Regions.
Forest City Roller Derby is a women's flat-track roller derby league based in London, Ontario. Founded in April 2006, Forest City is one of the first flat-track roller derby leagues in Canada, and is a not for profit organization owned and operated by the skaters. Forest City is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).

Founded in 2007, the league consists of two travel teams, three home teams and a skater training course for players and referees. Newcastle Roller Derby League (NRDL) is a flat track roller derby league founded in 2009, based in Newcastle, New South Wales. Their representative team is the Dockyard Dames, while their three home teams are the Harbour Hellcats, the Fort Smashleys and the Bogey Rollers.
Ottawa Valley Roller Derby (OVRD) is a flat track roller derby league based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The league was created from a merger in 2018 between two local leagues that had been formed in 2008: Rideau Valley Roller Derby and Capital City Derby Dolls.

The Paradise Roller Girls (PRG) is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Hilo, Hawaii. Founded in 2010, the league is member-owned and consists of two teams, the Honey Badgers A-Team and the Killer Bees B-team; both are travel teams that compete against teams from other leagues. Paradise Roller Girls is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).
Deadly Rival Roller Derby (DRRD) is Florida's only Banked Track Roller Derby league, the only Banked Track league in the Southeastern United States and the 8th operating in the country as of 2019. When the league was first organized, Deadly Rival was the original roller derby league of Pinellas County, and throughout their history maintained the largest women’s roller derby league in the county. Founded in 2011 as Pinellas County Roller Girls, the league played four exhibition bouts the first year: the Roll-A-Hula Luau, the School Girl Massacre, the Rocky Roller Derby Show, and the Roller Derby Christmas Story. The league also played their first travel bout, the Breast Cancer Awareness Skate-Off, against the Lakeland Derby Dames’ team, the Rockabilly Rebels.
Halifax Bruising Banditas (HBB) are a flat track roller derby league based in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England. Established in 2011, they are the first roller derby league in the Calderdale and Kirklees area. and play to the ruleset of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association.
