Lakker are an Irish electronic music duo consisting of Dara Smith and Ian McDonnell, both from Dublin, Ireland. [1] Formed in 2003, they have released a number of albums and singles on the independent Belgian electronic label R & S Records merging "IDM, new-school trip-hop, and industrial-strength techno/bass-music hybrids". [2]
Lakker were featured on Mary Anne Hobbs' "6 Music Recommends" on BBC Radio 6 during 2014 and 2017, [3] [4] and on Nick Luscombe's "Late Junction" on BBC Radio 3 in March 2017. [5]
In 2016, in combination with the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Lakker created "a new conceptual work" which was presented as an album, an interactive digital platform, and a documentary. [6] [7] [8]
Lakker perform live, DJ, and present audiovisual shows in Europe and North America. This includes performances at BLOC Festival, Montreal's Mutek Festival, [9] [10] Glade Festival, Rewire Festival, and Sonica in London in 2018. [11] In addition to electronic music festivals, Lakker have presented works on Boiler Room TV in 2014, [12] 2015, [13] and 2016. [14]
In 2015 the duo presented a workshop on Ableton for live performance at Berlin's Krake Festival. [15] [16] And, in 2016 Lakker presented and discussed their "Struggle & Emerge" A/V project at the Europeana Sounds Conference in Vilnius. [17]

Mary Anne Hobbs is an English DJ and music journalist from Lancashire, England. She currently hosts the BBC Radio 6 Music weekday mid-morning show, Monday to Friday, 10:30 am – 1 pm. She is also a performer and curator of live events. In 2024 she created a ground-breaking collaboration with violinist Anna Phoebe for the 6 Music Festival. She's hosted the ALL QUEENS stage at All Points East festival for 4 years. In 2019, she created a radical live show, Queens of the Electronic Underground for Manchester International Festival and assisted David Lynch with his musical presentation at the festival, following her series of shows, "Dark Matter" at MIF 2017. She staged a BBC Prom with Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory for the Sullen in 2015. She performs as a live DJ internationally, at events such as the opening of Switch House at TATE Modern and the TATE Britain re-hang celebrations in 2023.
Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. The style emerged as a UK garage offshoot that blended 2-step rhythms and sparse dub production, as well as incorporating elements of broken beat, grime, and drum and bass. Holly Herndon is an American artist and composer based in Berlin, Germany. After studying composition at Stanford University and completing her Ph.D. at Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, she pursued a music career internationally. Herndon's music often includes human singing voices, is primarily computer-based, and regularly uses the visual programming language Max/MSP to create custom instruments and vocal processes. Alexandra Cárdenas is a Colombian musician, composer and improviser now based in Berlin, who has followed a path from Western classical composition to improvisation and live electronics. Her recent work has included live coding performance, including performances at the forefront of the Algorave scene, she also co-organised a live coding community in Mexico City. At the 2014 Kurukshetra Festival Cárdenas was a keynote speaker and hosted a music live coding workshop, the first of its kind in India. Cárdenas has been invited to talk about and perform live coding at events such as the Berlin based Transmediale festival and the Ableton sponsored Loop symposium, and held residencies including at Tokyo Wonder Site in Japan and Centre for the Arts in Mexico City.
Kara-Lis Coverdale, also known as K-LC, is a Canadian composer, musician, producer, based in Montreal, Quebec. Coverdale is known equally for her piano, organ, and keyboard work as she is for her experimental electronic projects; often her work integrates the two, blurring the lines between traditional composition and research-based modernism. Her 25 minute album Grafts (2017) was named an album of the year by Noisey, Crack, Boomkat, Resident Advisor, Tinymixtapes, and more.
Deniz Kurtel is a Turkish installation artist and electronic musician. She specializes in creating interactive sculptures featuring LED lights and mirrors and has participated in various festivals, exhibitions, and design weeks around the globe. Starting with her debut album in 2009, “Music Watching Over Me,” she has regularly toured as a musician. Her song "The L Word" made NPR's Favorite Songs of 2011. Working both in Berlin and Brooklyn, she is in the process of further integrating her art and light installations into her live performances.

Jens Berents Christiansen, also known as Rumpistol, is a Danish producer and musician, who writes and performs electronic music. He has been releasing music since 2003 and has received positive reviews from magazines such as Intro.deDe:Bug and Danish magazine GAFFA. The latter gave Rumpistol 6/6 for his 2008 album Dynamo.
Budots is an electronic dance music (EDM) genre that originated in Davao City, Philippines, and is considered as street style techno. It eventually spread in Bisaya-speaking regions. Based on techno and house music with Sama-Bajau tangonggo rhythms, it is regarded as the first "Filipino-fied" electronic music, characterized by its aggressive percussion, heavy use of sampling, off-beat basslines, high-pitched "tiw ti-ti-tiw" whistle hooks, and organic noises that surround the city. It is created to complement a form of freestyle street dance that bears the same name.
