Lance Kaplan is an electrical engineer at the Army Research Laboratory in Adelphi, Maryland. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Duke University in 1989, followed by an M.S. and Ph.D in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in 1991 and 1994 respectively. [1] His doctoral dissertation was "Fractal Signal Modeling: Theory, Algorithms and Applications." [2]
He was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2016 [3] for his contributions to signal processing and information fusion for situational awareness.
Solomon Wolf Golomb was an American mathematician, engineer, and professor of electrical engineering at the University of Southern California, best known for his works on mathematical games. Most notably, he invented Cheskers in 1948. He also fully described polyominoes in 1953. He specialized in problems of combinatorial analysis, number theory, coding theory, and communications. Pentomino boardgames, based on his work, would go on to inspire Tetris.

He received his the E.E. degree from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Mandatory Palestine, in 1947, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, in 1949, and the Sc.D. degree degree from Columbia University of New York City in 1953. He was professor of electrical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Miami.

Pai is the first India-born scientist to be awarded a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.
Yendluri Shanthi Pavan is an Indian electrical engineer and a professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. He is known for his studies on mixed signal VLSI circuits and is an elected fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He is also a fellow of IEEE. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards for his contributions to Engineering Sciences in 2012.
Vivek K Goyal is an American engineering professor, author, and inventor. He is currently Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University (BU). He was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2014 and named OSA Fellow in the 2020 class. He was also named Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in the 2022 class. He is a recipient of a 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship.
