Landon Ashworth is an American actor, director, and pilot. He is a graduate of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. [1]
Ashworth aspired to become an astronaut. [2] He graduated from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelors of Science, and then became a test pilot for NOAA flying whale protection missions, then to build jet hours, as a pilot for United Airlines. [3] Once his jet hours were built up enough to apply to the NASA new hire class, hiring requirements were changed and he had to pivot to find his way into space. [4] Ashworth studied film making, then transitioned into Astrophysics when the Mars mission was scrapped. [5] NASA put a hiring freeze [6] on all new hiring rendering his education un-usable for becoming an astronaut. He then moved to Los Angeles to attempt a career in the arts starting in 2010 booking a role on Castle in 2011. Ashworth has appeared in over a dozen TV shows, and is a [7] screenwriter [8] and director.
In 2003, when Ashworth was still in college, he met musician Gavin Degraw and played in a few of his concerts as a fill in drummer.[ citation needed ] In 2009, Ashworth teamed back up with Degraw as his drummer for the music video "In Love with a Girl". The All American Rejects cast Ashworth in their music video for "I Wanna". These roles led to Ashworth starring in a music videosfor Tristan Prettyman in 2012 entitled "I Was Going To Marry You". [9]

Ronald John Garan Jr. is a retired NASA astronaut. After graduating from State University of New York College at Oneonta in 1982, he joined the Air Force, becoming a Second Lieutenant in 1984. He became an F-16 pilot, and flew combat missions in Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Before becoming an astronaut he was the Operations Officer of the 40th Flight Test Squadron (FTS). He first flew in space as a mission specialist on the May 2008 STS-124 mission to the International Space Station (ISS). He returned to ISS on April 4, 2011, for a six-month stay as a member of Expedition 27. Garan is a highly decorated former NASA astronaut who flew on the US Space Shuttle, Russian Soyuz, and International Space Station. In total he spent 178 days in space and more than 71 million miles in 2,842 orbits of Earth, 27 hours and 3 minutes of EVA in four spacewalks, and 18 days on the bottom of the ocean during the NEEMO-9 undersea mission.

IM-1 was a robotic Moon landing mission conducted by Intuitive Machines (IM) in February 2024 using a Nova-C lunar lander. After contact with the lunar surface on February 22 the lander tipped to an unplanned 30 degree angle. All instrument payloads remained functional and the mission was deemed a success. IM-1 was the first commercial mission to successfully soft-land on the Moon. NASA provided funding support for the mission through the Commercial Lunar Payload Services program. The lander, named Odysseus, carried six NASA-developed payloads and several others from commercial and educational customers. On February 29, Odysseus lost power and shut down with the start of the lunar night.
