Slough is a large town in Berkshire, England, 20 miles (32 km) west of central London and 19 miles (31 km) north-east of Reading. It is in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolitan area at the intersection of the M4, M40 and M25 motorways. Slough had a population of 164,000 in 2018.

The Langley Academy is an academy in Langley, east of Slough in Berkshire, south east England. It opened in September 2008, replacing the former Langleywood Secondary School. The building was designed by Foster and Partners, led by the architect Norman Foster and by Buro Happold. The school is supported by the Arbib Foundation. Langley Hall Primary Academy is a Free School founded at Langley, Berkshire in 2011. It was established in a Grade II listed building under the coalition government's Free Schools initiative.
The Western Rail Approach to Heathrow is a proposed rail link in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire, England, which would create an additional connection between London's Heathrow Airport and the Great Western Main Line. Beginning at Heathrow Terminal 5 station, the link would run via a tunnel to a junction east of Langley station, allowing trains to run westwards towards Slough, Reading and beyond. When completed, the link would improve rail connections to Heathrow from the Thames Valley as well as from South West England, South Wales and The Midlands. It would also reduce congestion at London Paddington station by removing the need for Heathrow passengers on this route to travel to Hayes and Harlington or into central London.
