Laotegguelnodji Koumtog (born 1946 [1] ) is a Chadian political figure and diplomat. He served in the government of Chad as Minister of Communication and Government Spokesman from 1994 to 1998 and as Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2000 to 2005.

Chad Country in central Africa

Chad, officially the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in north-central Africa. It is bordered by Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, and Niger to the west. United Nations Intergovernmental organization

The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization that was tasked to maintain international peace and security, develop friendly relations among nations, achieve international co-operation and be a centre for harmonizing the actions of nations. The headquarters of the UN is in Manhattan, New York City, and is subject to extraterritoriality. Further main offices are situated in Geneva, Nairobi, Vienna and The Hague. The organization is financed by assessed and voluntary contributions from its member states. Its objectives include maintaining international peace and security, protecting human rights, delivering humanitarian aid, promoting sustainable development and upholding international law. The UN is the largest, most familiar, most internationally represented and most powerful intergovernmental organization in the world. In 24 October 1945, at the end of World War II, the organization was established with the aim of preventing future wars. At its founding, the UN had 51 member states; there are now 193. The UN is the successor of the ineffective League of Nations.

Koumtog was born in Pandzangue. He was Director of Trade, Customs, Financial and Monetary Affairs at the Secretariat of the Economic Community of Central African States from 1985 to 1994. He then served as Minister of Communication and Government Spokesman from 1994 to 1998; he was also Deputy Chief of Staff to President Idriss Déby at this time. Subsequently he was Assistant Director-General of the Chad Oil Transportation Company S.A. in Komé before being appointed as Permanent Representative to the UN in 2000. He presented his credentials as Permanent Representative on December 20, 2000. [1]

It "aims to achieve collective autonomy, raise the standard of living of its populations and maintain economic stability through harmonious cooperation".

Idriss Déby Chadian politician

General Idriss Déby Itno is a Chadian politician who has been the President of Chad since 1990. He is also head of the Patriotic Salvation Movement. Déby is of the Bidyat clan of the Zaghawa ethnic group. He took power at the head of a rebellion against President Hissène Habré in December 1990 and has since survived various rebellions against his own rule. He won elections in 1996 and 2001, and after term limits were eliminated he won again in 2006, 2011, and 2016. He added "Itno" to his surname in January 2006. He is a graduate of Muammar Gaddafi's World Revolutionary Center.
