State Route 2,formerly known as Inter-county Highway 2 until 1921 and State Highway 2 in 1922,is an east–west highway crossing most of northern Ohio. Its western terminus is at the Indiana state line near Hicksville where the route becomes Indiana State Road 37 which continues to Fort Wayne,Indiana. The eastern terminus of the route is in Painesville Township in Lake County at U.S. Route 20 (US 20).

The Ohio and Erie Canal was a canal constructed during the 1820s and early 1830s in Ohio. It connected Akron with the Cuyahoga River near its outlet on Lake Erie in Cleveland,and a few years later,with the Ohio River near Portsmouth. It also had connections to other canal systems in Pennsylvania.
State Route 315,known locally as the Olentangy Freeway,running almost parallel to Olentangy River Road for most of its length,is a north–south highway in central Ohio,in the Columbus metropolitan area. It may be seen abbreviated as SR 315,OH-315,or simply 315. Its southern terminus is at the south junction of I-70 and I-71 in Columbus,and its northern terminus is at US 23 near Delaware. It is a controlled access freeway from its southern terminus to I-270. The controlled access section carries two or three lanes in each direction,depending on the location. North of I-270,it becomes a two-lane road. It roughly follows the Olentangy River for about two-thirds of its length. The route passes through The Ohio State University campus. The section between Interstate 670 and Interstate 70 is known as the West Innerbelt,and it is commonly referred to as such in traffic reports. The original name of this section was Sandusky Street.
State Route 7 (SR 7),formerly known as Inter-county Highway 7 until 1921 and State Highway 7 in 1922,is a north–south state highway in the southern and eastern portions of the U.S. state of Ohio. At about 336 miles (541 km) in length,it is the longest state route in Ohio. Its southern terminus is an interchange with U.S. Route 52 (US 52) just west of Chesapeake. Its northern terminus also serves as the eastern terminus of SR 531 in Conneaut. The path of SR 7 stays within five miles (8.0 km) of the Ohio River for the southern portion,with the river being visible from much of the route. The road also remains within 10 miles (16 km) of the Pennsylvania state line for the northern portion.
With God,all things are possible is the motto of the U.S. state of Ohio. Quoted from the Gospel of Matthew,verse 19:26,it is the only state motto taken directly from the Bible. It is defined in section 5.06 of the Ohio Revised Code and sometimes appears beneath the Seal of Ohio. The motto was adopted in 1959 and survived a federal constitutional challenge in 2001. The state maintains that it is a generic expression of optimism rather than an endorsement of a particular religion.
Interstate 470 (I-470) is a 10.63-mile-long (17.11 km) auxiliary Interstate Highway of I-70 that bypasses the city of Wheeling,West Virginia,in the US. I-470 is one of 13 auxiliary Interstate Highways in Ohio and the only auxiliary Interstate Highway in West Virginia. The western terminus of I-470 is an interchange with I-70 in Richland Township,Ohio. Traveling southeast through rural Belmont County,I-470 approaches the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge,which spans the Ohio River. After crossing the river into Ohio County,West Virginia,the highway turns east toward the Wheeling communities of Bethlehem and Elm Grove and its eastern terminus at I-70 near Elm Grove. The portion of the highway in West Virginia is named the USS West Virginia Memorial Highway by proclamation of then-Governor Cecil H. Underwood on the 59th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
State Route 161 is an east–west state highway in central Ohio. Its western terminus is in Mutual at State Route 29 and its eastern terminus is near Alexandria at State Route 37. It is 57.46 miles (92.47 km) long. State Route 161 passes through Columbus,the capital of Ohio,and a variety of towns including Plain City,Dublin,and New Albany.

Published histories describe Colonel William Stacy's involvement in a variety of events during the war,such as rallying the militia on a village common in Massachusetts,participating in the Siege of Boston,being captured by Loyalists and American Indians at the Cherry Valley massacre,narrowly escaping a death by burning at the stake,General George Washington's efforts to obtain Stacy's release from captivity,and Washington's gift of a gold snuff box to Stacy at the end of the war.
