Latino Buggerveil is an independent record label and publishing company that was founded by psychedelic noise-punk band the Butthole Surfers.

Butthole Surfers are an American rock band formed by singer Gibby Haynes and guitarist Paul Leary in San Antonio, Texas, in 1981. The band has had numerous personnel changes, but its core lineup of Haynes, Leary, and drummer King Coffey has been consistent since 1983. Teresa Nervosa served as second drummer from 1983 to 1985, 1986 to 1989, and 2009. The band has also employed a variety of bass players, most notably Jeff Pinkus.

The label's first release was the 1987 album A Texas Trip, a various artists compilation which was co-released by Caroline Records. Following 1989's Double Live , a limited edition release documenting the band's 1988 tour, Latino Buggerveil became largely dormant as a record company and was instead used as the new name for the group's publishing company, which until that point was known as "Second Harvest."

Double Live is a live double album by American punk band Butthole Surfers, released on vinyl and cassette tape in 1989. An expanded CD edition followed in 1990. All songs were written by Butthole Surfers, except: "The One I Love," written by Bill Berry, Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Michael Stipe of R.E.M.; "Paranoid," written by Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad; "No Rule," written by Jonas Almqvist of Leather Nun; and "Kuntz," a distorted version of "The Fear (กลัวดวง)" ( written by Kong Katkamngae and performed by Phloen Phromdade, two Thai artists.
In 1999, the Butthole Surfers reactivated the label in order to reissue most of the group's 1980s catalogue, whose rights had reverted to the group following a lawsuit with Touch and Go Records. The band signed a distribution deal with Revolver USA, who had previously handled label imprints created by fellow noise rock bands Sonic Youth (Smells Like Records and SYR) and the Swans (Young God Records).
Touch and Go Records is an American independent record label based in Chicago, Illinois. After its genesis as a handmade fanzine in 1979, it grew into one of the key record labels in the American 1980s underground and alternative rock scenes. Touch & Go carved out a reputation for releasing adventurous noise rock by the likes of the Butthole Surfers, Big Black, and The Jesus Lizard. Along with other independent American labels such as Twin/Tone, SST Records, and Dischord, Touch & Go helped to spearhead the nationwide network of underground bands that formed the pre-Nirvana indie rock scene. These labels presided over the shift from the hardcore punk that then dominated the American underground scene to the more diverse styles of alternative rock that were emerging.

Latino Buggerveil is run by Butthole Surfers drummer King Coffey, who had previously operated the independent record label Trance Syndicate from 1990 to 1998. The label's name and logo were originally designed by Butthole Surfers singer Gibby Haynes.
King Coffey is an American drummer, known for being the drummer of the psychedelic/noise rock band Butthole Surfers and band leader of Drain. He began drumming in a Fort Worth hardcore punk band called The Hugh Beaumont Experience. Around that same time he published a fanzine called Throbbing Cattle. He saw Butthole Surfers for the first time in 1982 at a time when Scott Matthews was their drummer. Coffey replaced him in 1983 and is still the band's official drummer. Coffey founded the independent record label Trance Syndicate. In September 2014 Coffey won "Yard Of The Month" in his local neighborhood.
Trance Syndicate was an independent record label founded in 1990 by King Coffey, drummer of Austin, TX band the Butthole Surfers. Its first release was Crust's The Sacred Heart of Crust EP. From 1990 to 1999, when the label closed down, Trance Syndicate released albums by several notable Texan bands and artists, including Bedhead, Ed Hall, American Analog Set, Furry Things, …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead and Roky Erickson.
Gibson Jerome "Gibby" Haynes is an American musician, radio personality, painter, and the lead singer of the band Butthole Surfers.
Apart from being co-credited on Haynes' 2004 solo record (released primarily through Surfdog Records and not officially counted in the current LBV catalogue system), Latino Buggerveil appears mainly to be a conduit for archival Butthole Surfers releases, as evinced by the reissue of the group's first two Alternative Tentacles releases on one CD and the rarities collection Humpty Dumpty LSD . (A sequel to LSD was initially planned but has since been placed on indefinite hold.) The label's first official side project release was the debut album from Rubble, a band featuring Coffey.

Its roster includes artists of the rock, punk, swing, rockabilly, reggae, lounge, and alternative genres. It has released over 150 albums, including recordings by Stray Cats, Brian Setzer, Eric Clapton, Butthole Surfers, Glen Campbell, Joss Stone, Dave Stewart, Agent 51, Gary Hoey, Pato Banton, Sprung Monkey, Slightly Stoopid, Echobrain, and Tea Leaf Green.
Alternative Tentacles is an independent record label established in 1979 in San Francisco, California. It was used by the Dead Kennedys for the self-produced single "California Über Alles". After realizing the potential for an independent label, they released records for other bands as well. Dead Kennedys guitarist East Bay Ray and vocalist Jello Biafra formed Alternative Tentacles, but Biafra became the owner in the mid-1980s. Alternative Tentacles no longer owns the rights to Dead Kennedys recordings after a 2000 lawsuit.
Humpty Dumpty LSD is the second compilation album by American experimental rock band Butthole Surfers, released in July 2002. All songs were written by Butthole Surfers, except for "Earthquake," which is a cover version of the 13th Floor Elevators song.
