Latvia–Spain relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between Latvia and Spain. Both countries are full members of the Council of Europe, the European Union and NATO.
Latvia has an embassy in Madrid [1] and consulates in Barcelona, Bilbao, Marbella, Seville and Valencia. [2] Formal representation of Spain in Latvia is limited to the embassy office in Riga. [3]
Historical relations between Spain and Latvia began during the first period of independence, and were re-established in October 1991.
Since Latvia's entry into the EU and NATO, relations with Spain have seen positive developments, including the opening of the Spanish Embassy in Riga in 2004, and Latvia's Diplomatic Representation in Madrid.
In 2009 Latvian representatives visited Spain, which culminated a first stage of bilateral approach. [4]
While Latvia is not subject to Official Spanish Development Assistance, cooperation in the cultural and educational field is growing. Several Spanish universities have signed agreements with counterparts in Latvia, and the number of Erasmus students in Spain continues to grow. The AECID finances two lectorates in each University of Riga.
Spanish artists travel to Riga to participate in major dance or music festivals, as part of Latvia's cultural programming.
The Latvian Academy of Culture teaches a degree of specialization in Spanish language and culture. The University of Latvia teaches a master's degree in Romanesque Studies, both with the support of the AECID's lecturer program. [5]
Spain–Vietnam relations are the official relations between Spain and Vietnam. Spain has an embassy in Hanoi and Vietnam has an embassy in Madrid.

Slovakia–Spain relations are the bilateral relations between Slovakia and Spain. The relations of these two countries are defined mainly by the membership of both the European Union and NATO. On the occasion of the celebration of the XXV anniversary of the independence of the Slovak Republic from Czechoslovakia, Ambassador Vladimír Grácz and his lady offered a brilliant reception on January 11, 2019. The protocol act began with the interpretation of the anthems of Spain and Slovakia. Ambassador Grácz confirmed that “relations with Spain are impeccable, of excellent collaboration, of great harmony and mutual support in the candidacies for international institutions. Economic relations are fantastic, as are cultural relations. On a personal basis he recognizes that Spain is a wonderful country, which has been able to meet him in the company of his wife.

Spain has an embassy in Ljubljana. The Spanish representation in Slovenia is exercised through the Embassy, which has the support of two Aggregators: Defense and Interior; two departments: Tourism and Economy and Commerce, all of them with residence in surrounding countries, although the Economic and Commercial Office has an Antenna in Ljubljana. There is a Cervantes Classroom under the Instituto Cervantes of Vienna. The relations of these two countries are mainly defined by their membership in both the European Union and the NATO.
Iceland–Spain relations are the bilateral and diplomatic relations between these two countries. Iceland does not have an embassy in Spain, but its embassy in Paris, France, is accredited for Spain. It does have consulates in Madrid and Barcelona. The representation of Spain in Iceland is made from the Oslo embassy, in Norway. Spain has an honorary consulate and an honorary vice consulate in Reykjavik. Both countries are members of the Council of Europe, and NATO.

Spain has an embassy in Luxembourg City.

The Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Spain and Equatorial Guinea is a bilateral treaty signed on 23 October 1980 in Madrid by the First Vice President and Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Equatorial Guinea, Florencio Mayé Elá and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Spain, José Pedro Pérez-Llorca. The treaty was published in the Boletín Oficial del Estado on 27 July 1981.
The Spanish Civil War was fought from 17 July 1936 till the victory of Francoist Spain on 1 April 1939. After the end of the war, the Spanish Republic formed a government-in-exile in Paris and Mexico City.
