Laura Bussing (born 3 August 1964), is an American former International motorcycle trials championship rider. Bussing was the NATC's first Women's Trials Champion in 1998.
Bussing was born in Sequatchie, Tennessee. In 1998 the NATC added a Women's championship to the series, and Bussing took the title becoming the first official US Women's champion. [1]
The following year she finished 5th in the championship after competing in five of the eleven rounds. [2]
For the 2000 championship Bussing competed in and scored in all ten rounds, ending the season in a strong 4th place behind Canadian riders Christy Williams and her sister Kerry Williams, and third-place finisher Pam DeBruin. Branching out into Europe Bussing also competed in the Spanish world round.
Bussing was 6th in the 2001 NATC Women's Championship after competing in three rounds.
In 2002 she was back in the running with a string of podium finishes, she ended the season in 3rd place behind Kerry Williams and Andrea Davis. Bussing was chosen to represent the US on the women's team at the FIM Trial des Nations, this year held in Portugal. [3] With teammates Nicole Bradford and Kerrie Brokaw, the US team finished in 7th place. [4] Bussing competed in the FIM World round in Portugal, finishing in 17th place against the best riders in the world.
2003 was to be Bussings last season in national competition, she rode only one round in Washington, finishing 4th at the event and 11th in the series.

The North American Trials Council Championship is the official US National Trials Championship and has been held since 1974.
Christy Williams, is an international women's motorcycle trials rider. Williams is a four time Canadian Women's Trials Champion and ten time American NATC Women's Trials Champion.
Patrick Smage, is an International motorcycle trials rider. Smage is ten times United States NATC Trials Champion and is the current champion. Patrick rides with his brother Phil Smage on the Smage Brothers Riding Shows. They competed on the sixth season of America's Got Talent in the middle of 2011 and made the finals finishing in the Top 10.
Sarah Duke, is an International Women's motorcycle trials rider.
Louise Forsley is an International Women's motorcycle trials rider. Forsley rode the US NATC National Championships and the FIM World Trials Championships. Forsley is a two time Women's National Champion. Louise competed in the 2012 Xgames in Los Angeles, California and took home the silver medal.
Donna Fox, is a British Women's International motorcycle trials rider. Fox was a member of the winning British Women's TDN team in 2006-2007 and 2015.
Sara Trentini, is an Italian Women's International motorcycle trials rider. Trentini is a 5 times Italian Women's Trials Champion, winning the National title in 2010 thru 2012, and again in 2016 and 2017.
Theresa Bauml, is a German Women's International motorcycle trials rider. She was the 2015 German Women's and FIM European Women's Trials Champion. In 2016 Bauml retained her European title.
