Antena 1 is a Romanian free-to-air television network owned by the Antena TV Group, part of the Intact Media Group. Its programming consists of television news programs, soap opera shows, football matches, entertainment programmes, movies and television series.
Luminița Anghel is a Romanian singer, TV personality and politician. She is internationally known for representing Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 along with percussion band Sistem. Their song, "Let Me Try", reached the third place in the final after placing first in the semi-finals; their appearance marks the country's best result in the contest along with 2010's "Playing with Fire" performed by Paula Seling and Ovi.
Antena 3 Cable News Network, known as Antena 3 CNN, formerly Antena 3, is a Romanian news channel owned by Antena 3 S.A. and part of the Intact Media Group. An Exclusive News Partner of CNN International in Romania since September 2022, it focuses on news programmes and current events, mainly with political and economic topics. It was launched in June 2005 as the third Romanian 24-hour news channel, after Realitatea TV being the first television channel launched in 2001 and N24 being the second television channel launched in 2004, which was later transformed into a generalist television channel in 2010.
Romania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv, Ukraine. They selected their entry, "Let Me Try" by Romanian singer Luminița Anghel and group Sistem, through the national selection Selecția Națională 2005 in March 2005. Controversy surrounded the event, as second-placed singer Loredana accused the organising broadcaster, Romanian Television (TVR), of vote rigging. Prior to the 2005 contest, Romania had participated in the Eurovision Song Contest seven times since its first entry in 1994. Its highest placing in the contest, to this point, had been ninth place, which the nation achieved in 2002. In 2004, they placed 18th in the final.
AKTA TV was a Romanian DTH platform. It belonged to Digital Cable Systems, a telecommunication operator which offered satellite, cable television, internet and telephony in over 2,500 locations in Romania.
Television in Romania started in August 1955. State television started to broadcast on December 31, 1956. The second television channel followed in 1968, but between 1985 and 1990, there was only one Romanian channel before the return of the second channel. Private broadcasters arrived in December 1991, with SOTI which was the first private nationwide television station in Central and Eastern Europe. Romania has the highest penetration rates for pay television in the world, with over 98% of all households watching television through cable or satellite.

TVR Info is a news television channel that broadcasts 24/7 mainly news, utility information, and live traffic images from the major cities through the country. It also sometimes broadcasts documentaries and sport events. It was the second niche channel launched by the public TV broadcaster, after TVR Cultural, and the third news television channel in Romania behind Realitatea TV and Antena 3.
Trooper is a Romanian heavy metal music band. It was formed on 25 October 1995, by brothers Alin and Aurelian Dincă and Ionuţ Rădulescu being influenced by bands like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest. The band used to be called Megarock, then White Wolf. Once with the arrival of Ionuţ "Negative" Fleancu the band was renamed to Trooper. Poll conducted by the specialized Heavy Metal Magazine in 2001 placed Trooper first in the category Best young band. The group appeared on MTV, MCM, Atomic, TVR1, TVR2, B1 TV, Antena 1, Romania International, Prima TV, Pro TV. Throughout their career, Trooper have shared their stage with bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Manowar, Sepultura, Kreator and Evergrey.
Laura Petrescu, better known as Lora is a Romanian pop singer, model, judge on The Next Star show, and TV personality. Before her solo career, she was part of the Romanian band Wassabi.
Devas are a Romanian music band formed in the spring of 2010 in Cluj Napoca. The band consists of Cristian Şerbănescu (violin), Dragoş Cucoş (synthesizer) and Ionuţ Cataramă (violin). Their goal is to produce "inspirational music for your soul".
Arabs in Romania are people from Arab countries who live in Romania. The first Fellah settlers came in 1831 - 1833 from Ottoman Syria to Dobruja. They assimilated in the Turkish-Tatarian Population. Some of them came to Romania during the Ceaușescu era, when many Arab students were granted scholarships to study in Romanian universities. Most of them were Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians, Iraqis, Libyans, Egyptians, and Jordanians. Most of these students returned to their countries of origin, but some remained in Romania starting families here. It is estimated that almost half a million Middle Eastern Arabs studied in Romania during the 1980s. A new wave of Arab immigration started after the Romanian Revolution. Many of the newly arrived Arabs came to Romania in the 1990s in order to develop businesses. In addition, Romania has people from Arab countries who have the status of refugees or illegal immigrants, primarily from North Africa, trying to immigrate to Western Europe. In particular, the European migrant crisis lead to Syrian people coming to Romania, although many Syrians were already living in Romania at the time of the crisis.

In May 2019 she was elected a Member of the European Parliament on behalf of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), a full member of the Party of European Socialists (PES). As an MEP, Carmen Avram is a member of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists of Democrats (S&D).
