Laurence Taylor is a senior British police officer. He is now an Assistant Commissioner in the Metropolitan Police with the portfolio of Professionalism.

Career

Taylor served in Sussex Police from 1996 to July 2018, [1] before moving to the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) as a Deputy Assistant Commissioner. [2] [3] His initial role in the MPS was heading the Operations portfolio within Met Operations, then from April 2021, that of Local Policing within Frontline Policing. [4]

The Specialist Operations directorate is a unit of the Metropolitan Police in London, England. It is responsible for providing specialist policing capabilities, including national security and counter-terrorism operations. The Specialist Operations directorate is currently led by Assistant Commissioner Matt Jukes.

Assistant Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, usually just Assistant Commissioner (AC), is the third highest rank in London's Metropolitan Police, ranking below Deputy Commissioner and above Deputy Assistant Commissioner. John Yates is a former Assistant Commissioner in the London Metropolitan Police Service (2006–2011). Yates came to particular prominence for heading the Cash for Honours investigation. MetCC, also known as the Met Contact Centre, Met Command and Control or MO12, is a department of Met Operations within Greater London's Metropolitan Police Service. It is the communications centre responsible for receiving emergency and non-emergency contact within the Metropolitan Police, the deployment of police resources and the command and control of special operations. MetCC operates out of three centres located at Lambeth, Hendon and Bow.

Matthew Jonathan Jukes is a senior British police officer who is currently serving as an Assistant Commissioner for Specialist Operations within the Metropolitan Police Service. He previously served as Chief Constable of South Wales Police.
