Silviu Simioncencu is a Romanian sprint canoer and three-time world champion in the Canadian canoe events.
Clubul Sportiv al Armatei Steaua București, commonly known as CSA Steaua București or simply Steaua, is a major multi-sports club based in Bucharest and run by the Ministry of National Defence. It is one of the most successful clubs in Romania and among the most successful multi-sport clubs in Europe. Founded on 7 June 1947 as Asociația Sportivă a Armatei București, the club changed its name several times before settling on to Steaua in 1961.

Simion Ismailciuc was a Romanian sprint canoeist. He had his best achievements in pairs, partnering with Dumitru Alexe. Together they won an Olympic gold medal in 1956, a European title in 1957 and a world title in 1958. Ismailciuc also excelled individually in the C-1 1000 m event, winning the world and European titles in 1963. He retired in 1965 to become a canoeing coach.
Costicǎ Olaru is a Romanian sprint canoer who competed in the early 1980s. He won a bronze medal in the C-1 500 m event at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
Andrei Igorov was a Romanian canoe sprinter. He specialized in the C-1 10000 m event, in which he won silver medals at the 1963 World and European Championships, as well as two European titles, in 1965 and 1967. This event was not available at the 1964 Olympics, and Igorov had to compete in the C-1 1000 m. He won a silver medal finishing 0.42 seconds ahead of the third place.
Dumitru Alexe was a Romanian sprint canoeist, who had his best achievements in doubles, partnering with Simion Ismailciuc. They won an Olympic gold medal in 1956, a European title in 1957 and a world title in 1958. At the 1960 Summer Olympics, Dunitru was paired with Igor Lipalit and placed fourth in the C-2 1000 m event.
Gheorghe Simionov is a retired Romanian sprint canoeist. He competed in 500 m and 1000 m doubles at the 1976 Olympics, together with Gheorghe Danilov, and placed fourth and second, respectively. He won ten medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with three golds, five silvers, and two bronzes. After 1975 he raced together with his younger brother Toma.
Aurel Vernescu was a Romanian sprint canoeist. He competed at the 1960, 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics and won three medals with a silver in 1972 in the K-4 1000 m and two bronze medals in 1964 in the K-1 1000 m and K-4 1000 m events. He served as a flag bearer for Romania at the 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics.
Ion Bîrlǎdeanu is a retired Romanian sprint kayaker. He won a bronze medal in the K-1 1000 m event at the 1980 Olympics, placing sixth in the doubles. He also won seven medals at the ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships with a gold, five silvers, and one bronze.
Nicuşor Eşanu is a retired Romanian canoe sprinter. He competed in the K-4 1000 m event at the 1976 and 1980 Olympics and placed fourth and second, respectively. At the world championships he won six medals with a gold, three silvers, and two bronzes.

Igor Lipalit was a Romanian sprint canoer who competed in the early 1960s. He won a bronze medal in the C-2 10000 m event at the 1963 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Jajce. Competing in two Summer Olympics, Lipalit earned his best finish of fourth in the C-2 1000 m event at Rome in 1960, where his C-2 partner was Alexe Dumitru. He was also said to have played a role in recruiting Vasile Dîba to CS Dinamo București, where he became a coach.
