Lawton East is a planned station on the Metro Manila Subway Line 9. The station would be built underground, serving the southern portion of Bonifacio Global City, particularly the townships of McKinley Hill, McKinley West and the planned Bonifacio Capital District in Taguig City [1] .
Metro Manila Subway Line 9, formerly known as the Mega Manila Subway, is an underground rapid transit line currently under construction in Metro Manila, Philippines. The 36-kilometer (22 mi) line, which will run north–south between the cities of Quezon City, Pasig, Makati, Taguig and Pasay, will serve fifteen stations between the Quirino Highway and FTI stations. It will also serve as the country's second direct airport rail link, with a branch line to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The line is designed to connect with the other urban rail transit services in the region, including Line 1, Line 3, and Line 7 at the North Avenue Common station, which is also currently under construction; the existing Line 2 and Metro Commuter Line; and the planned Line 5 and Line 8.
Bonifacio Global City is a financial and lifestyle district in Metro Manila, Philippines. It is located 11 km (6.8 mi) south-east of the center of Manila. The district experienced commercial growth following the sale of military land by the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). The entire district used to be the part of the main Philippine Army camp.
The station itself is planned to be built in front of the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority, situated at the intersection of Bayani Road and Lawton Avenue in Brgy. Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City [2] . It is one of two stations to be built along Lawton Avenue, named after United States Army Major General Henry Ware Lawton, the highest ranking American officer killed in action during the Philippine-American War.
Lawton Avenue is the main road in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig southeastern Metro Manila, Philippines. It follows a part of the alignment of the old Nichols route running roughly southwest to northeast from the interchange with South Luzon Expressway and the Manila Skyway to Fifth Avenue and the Manila American Cemetery and Memorial. It was named after Henry Ware Lawton, US Army general during the Philippine-American War.

Henry Ware Lawton was a highly respected U.S. Army officer who served with distinction in the Civil War, the Apache Wars, the Spanish–American War and was the only U.S. general officer to be killed during the Philippine–American War. The city of Lawton, Oklahoma, takes its name from General Lawton, as does a borough in the city of Havana, Cuba. Liwasang Bonifacio in downtown Manila was formerly named Plaza Lawton in his honor.
The station is slated to open in 2025, when the line commences full operations [3]
