The Leader-Telegram is a daily newspaper published in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, by Adams Publishing Group. It was founded in 1881 and is read throughout Eau Claire County and surrounding counties.
The Buckshot Run is named after Leader-Telegram sports-writer Ron Buckli. [2] [3]
Adams Publishing acquired the Leader-Telegram from the Graaskamp and Atkinson families, which had owned the paper since 1887. [4]
As of 2013, the paper has a daily circulation of nearly 30,000 during the week and a circulation rate of nearly 40,000 for the Sunday paper. [4]
Carson Park is a historic park located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. It is located on a 134-acre (54.2 ha) peninsula created on an oxbow lake, Half Moon Lake, which was part of the former course of the Chippewa River. The park contains baseball, football, and softball venues, as well as the Chippewa Valley Museum.

Lee Elmer Weigel is a former American football running back. He played college football for the Wisconsin–Eau Claire Blugolds and later had stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Thomas H. Barland is a retired American lawyer, politician, and judge. Most recently, he was the last chairman of the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board before its dissolution in 2015. He was a Wisconsin Circuit Court Judge and County Judge for 33 years in Eau Claire County and served six years in the Wisconsin State Assembly as a Republican.
The Wisconsin–Stout Blue Devils football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–Stout located in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The team competes at the NCAA Division III level as a member of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Blue Devils play home games at Don and Nona Williams Stadium in Menomonie, Wisconsin. The stadium opened in 2001 and seats 4,500 people. The team's head coach is Clayt Birmingham, who has served in that position in 2010.

The Buckshot Run, previously the Leader-Telegram Buckshot Run, is an annual 5 miles (8.0 km) and 2 miles (3.2 km) race held in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, held on Labor Day weekend. It was established in 1983 and attracts runners of all varieties. It is named after Leader-Telegram sports-writer Ron Buckli. It was run to raise money for the Indianhead Special Olympics, however the 2024 running was the last affiliated with the Special Olympics. As of 2022, the race raised an estimated $1.5 million.
The Eau Claire Marathon is an annual marathon that takes place in Eau Claire, Wisconsin in the United States. The race starts and finishes at Phoenix Park and features views of the Chippewa River. In 2023, RaceRaves announced the Eau Claire was the best marathon in Wisconsin based on feedback they received. Similarly, the half marathon accompanying the Eau Claire Marathon received similar honors in 2024.
