Life and career

Leah Kateb was born on August 11, 1999, in Los Angeles, California. She has Iranian roots from her parents, Afshin and Mina, who are Iranian immigrants. She has a sister named Daria. [1]

In 2024, she was cast on season 6 of Love Island. [2] Kateb was initially coupled up with Rob Rausch and Connor Newsum before coupling up with Miguel Harichi on day 15. Kateb and Harichi went on to become the runner-ups on day 32. [3] Her early relationship with Rausch on the show led to large followings as fans quickly became obsessed with their coupling and how she handled herself throughout it. [1] She also had many of her one-liners go viral on TikTok, [4] which also contributed to her large followings, and a spike in viewers. [5] Kateb's friendship with fellow islanders Serena Page and JaNa Craig also went viral as viewers fell in love with their friendship, known as PPG. [6] Fans have called for the three of them to get their own show after watching their friendship develop over the season and after filming. [7] She has since received multiple endorsements after appearing on the show. [8] Following the conclusion of the season, she signed with United Talent Agency. [9]

Following the success of her season of Love Island, it was announced in 2025 that she would appear in Peacock's spinoff series Love Island: Beyond the Villa. [10] [11]
