Lee-Lou Demierre (born 21 June 2001) [1] is a Dutch breakdancer who performs under the name B-Boy Lee.

Early life

Lee was born and grew up in Amsterdam. [2] His mother was a b-girl, which led to his interest in breakdancing. [3] He began dancing at two years old. [4]

Career

Lee won silver in the 2022 Red Bull BC One and the 2023 WDSF European Continental Championship, which sent him to the 2024 Summer Olympics, [2] where he came first in the Shanghai qualifiers. [5] He made it to the final eight in the Olympics, but lost 3–0 to Phil Wizard.

He is part of the breakdancing crew Ruggeds. [3]

The Red Bull BC One India Cypher is the India chapter of the Red Bull BC One annual international breakdancing (B-Boy) competition sponsored by Red Bull. The Cypher serves as a national qualifier for the Red Bull BC One Asia Pacific Finals and the World Final.

The 2024 Summer Olympics introduced the sport of breaking to the Summer Olympic program for the first time. There were two medal events, one each for men and women, with 16 "b-boys" and "b-girls" competing. Breaking was previously featured at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics. IOC President Thomas Bach stated that breakdancing was added as part of an effort to draw more interest from young people in the Olympics. The international organizing body is the World DanceSport Federation.

Ayumi Fukushima, also known as Ayumi, is a Japanese breakdancer. She participated at the 2022 World Games in the dancesport competition, being awarded the bronze medal in the B-Girls event. In 2021, Fukushima won the world championship in a competition in France. She also participated at a Red Bull BC One competition. Ayumi works as a schoolteacher.

Breakdancing competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics ran from 9 to 10 August at Place de la Concorde, marking the sport's official debut in the program and the first dancesport discipline to appear in Summer Olympic history.
