Leen Ryckaert (born 8 November 1957, in Ghent) is a Flemish psychologist and writer.
Ryckaert studied psychology and educational sciences at Ghent University. [1] She was scientific assistant at the University of Ghent and psycho-pedagogic consultant at a PMS-centre (now CLB – Centre for Student Coaching). She is now semi-retired as clinical psychologist.
In March 2011, the book Je bent niet jouw gedachten was published. [2] [3] It is a guide for people suffering from occupational burnout and depression (mood) and offers a way to choose for happiness.
In January 2023, the Italian translation of this book Non sei i tuoi pensieri was published by "Gruppo Albatros Il Filo". [4]
Ryckaert is the author of the book Omgaan met Ouders, [5] a handbook for teachers to help them deal in their meetings with parents.
In 1985, Ryckaert published the paper "Kohlberg's cognitive moral development theory. Application to juvenile delinquency" [6] and in 1987 the paper "The control of anger and aggressive behaviour. The role of cognitive factors" [7]
"Hebban olla vogala", sometimes spelled "hebban olla uogala", are the first three words of an 11th-century text fragment written in Old Dutch. The fragment was discovered in 1932 on the back of the end-leaf of a manuscript that once belonged to the cathedral priory of Rochester, Kent, now Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Bodley 340. The manuscript contains a collection of Old English sermons by Ælfric of Eynsham. The Dutch text is found on fol. 169v and probably dates to the late 11th century. It was long considered to represent a West Flemish variant of Old Low Franconian, although more recent research shows that it also displays significant influence from Old English.

East Flemish is a collective term for the two easternmost subdivisions of the so-called Flemish dialects, native to the southwest of the Dutch language area, which also include West Flemish. Their position between West Flemish and Brabantian has caused East Flemish dialects to be grouped with the latter as well. They are spoken mainly in the province of East Flanders and a narrow strip in the southeast of West Flanders in Belgium and eastern Zeelandic Flanders in the Netherlands.
