Lehigh Valley Steam

Lehigh Valley Steam was a soccer club that competed in the A-League in 1999. Based in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, the club has problems securing a home stadium and folded after a single season. The club featured future U.S. national team player Kerry Zavagnin and was coached by Daryl Shore.

The team name was decided through a "Name the Soccer Team Contest", with eight different contestants submitting "Lehigh Valley Steam" or slight variants for the name. [1]

Emmanuel "Manny" Oudin is the former head soccer coach of the Lehigh University women's soccer team. Oudin finished his career at Lehigh after eight seasons ending in 2009. He previously had an extensive playing and coaching career both at the collegiate and professional levels. He played as a defender both indoors and out, winning the 1995 National Professional Soccer League with the Cleveland Crunch. He also coached at the high school, college and professional levels before becoming head coach at Lehigh University.

The 2010 National Premier Soccer League season is the 8th season of the NPSL. The season began on April 3, 2010, and ended with the NPSL Championship Game in August. The NPSL had planned for form a Winter league that would play from September 2010 to March 2011 but when only three clubs were willing to participate the plans were dropped. Those three clubs eventually ended up forming the SPSL for that Fall, though that league would fold the following Spring.
