Guglielmo Marconi, 1st Marquis of Marconi was an Italian inventor, and electrical engineer, known for his pioneering work on long-distance radio transmission, development of Marconi's law, and a radio telegraph system. He is credited as the inventor of radio, and he shared the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics with Karl Ferdinand Braun "in recognition of their contributions to the development of wireless telegraphy".
KGAN, virtual channel 2, is a CBS-affiliated television station licensed to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States and serving the Eastern Iowa television market. The station is owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which also operates Fox affiliate KFXA under a local marketing agreement (LMA) with owner Second Generation of Iowa, Ltd. The two stations share studios at Broadcast Park on Old Marion Road Northeast in Cedar Rapids; KGAN's transmitter is located in Rowley near the junction of Buchanan, Benton and Linn counties. On cable, the station is available on Mediacom channel 2 and in high definition on digital channel 802.
KSTP-FM is a commercial FM radio station in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving the Minneapolis-St. Paul radio market. It is the flagship FM station of Hubbard Broadcasting and airs a hot adult contemporary radio format. The station has long been known on-air as "KS95." The studios and offices, located on University Avenue, along the boundary line between St. Paul and Minneapolis, are shared with sister stations KSTP 1500 AM, KSTP-TV Channel 5, KTMY 107.1 FM, and KSTC-TV Channel 45. There is a broadcasting tower behind the station, though it is only used as an emergency back-up, in case there are problems with the main tower.
WMTS-FM is a student-run college radio station licensed to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, United States. The station is currently owned by Middle Tennessee State University. It is the fourth attempt by students to organize a student-run radio station at MTSU. While the larger, professional station WMOT employed students, others felt unrepresented. A student group led by Reza Baktar worked to achieve enough interest and authorization from the Student Government Association. WMTS went on-air in March 1992 on cable TV channel 38, the Housing and Residential Life Channel, from 8 PM to Midnight.

The show on 105 The Ticket makes up the third hour of The Tom Barnard Podcast known as "The Ticket" where the first two hours of the podcast is known as "The Show". As of February, 2014, the podcast was no longer broadcast on 105 The Ticket

The Marconi Radio Awards are presented annually by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) to the top radio stations and on-air personalities in the United States. The awards are named in honor of Guglielmo Marconi, the man generally credited as the "Father of Wireless Telegraphy". NAB member stations submit nominations. A Task Force determines the finalists and the Marconi Radio Award Selection Academy votes on the winners, who receive their awards in the fall. Many critics say the awards are biased toward non-controversial broadcasters, as Howard Stern has never won the award.
