Leslie Lewis (born February 13, 1955) is a former American marathon runner.

She won the Athens Classic Marathon in 1989 with her personal best of 2:37:42 and competed in 1990 Goodwill Games and the 1995 Catalina Marathon. [1] [2]

Sara Mae Berman is an American marathon runner. Berman won the Boston Marathon as an unofficial winner from 1969 to 1971 as women were not allowed to compete until 1972. At subsequent Boston Marathons, Berman had a fifth place finish in both 1972 and 1973. Berman's wins were made official by the Boston Athletic Association in 1996. Outside of Boston, Berman finished third at the 1971 New York City Marathon. In 2015, she was inducted into the Road Runners Club of America Hall of Fame.

The men's elite race was won by Kenya's Rodgers Rop in a time of 2:08:07 hours while the women's race was won in 2:25:56 by Joyce Chepchumba, also of Kenya.

The 1988 Chicago Marathon was the 11th running of the annual marathon race in Chicago, United States and was held on October 30. The elite men's race was won by Mexico's Alejandro Cruz in a time of 2:08:57 hours and the women's race was won by America's Lisa Rainsberger in 2:29:17. It marked the return of the marathon distance at the competition, following a half marathon in 1987 due to sponsorship issues. A total of 5795 runners finished the race, a drop of over 2000 from the previous marathon-length outing in 1986.
