Lesego Ethel Motsumi was a Botswanan politician. She was elected to the National Assembly in 1999. She became Assistant Minister of Labour and Home Affairs from 2002 to 2003. She then became Minister of Health until November 2004, when she became the Minister of Works and Transport. In the 2008 cabinet reshuffle, held upon the appointment of then president Ian Khama, Motsumi reverted to her old post as Minister of Health, serving until 2009. She served as Minister of Presidential Affairs Governance and Public Administration from 2009 to 2011, also serving as acting Minister of Defence and Security from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2019, she served as Botswana's High Commissioner to India.

Letlhakeng or Lethakeng is an urban village in Kweneng District of Botswana. The village is located 75 km north-west of Molepolole. The population of Letlhakeng was 7,229 in the 2011 census.

Lephepe, is a village in Kweneng District of Botswana. The population of Lephepe was 742 in 2001 census.

Dutlwe is a village in Kweneng District of Botswana composed of people from the Bakgalagadi and Basarwa tribes. The population of Dutlwe was 1,464 with 692 males and 772 females in the 2022 census. As part of IDDS Botswana 2018, a bean thresher was installed in the village due to bean farming beaning one of the villages main sources of income. The village chief, Motshegetsi Puleng, was arrested for stabbing his girlfriend on July 4, 2020. In November 2022, 2 village residents died after drinking tea that had been suspected to be poisoned. 4 others in the family also went to the hospital, but barely survived. There is a Calvary Baptist church in the town led by Pastor Thokwane.

Botswana - People's Republic of China relations refers to the current and historical relationship between the Botswana and the People's Republic of China. Relations were first established on 6 January 1975. In 2010, upon the 35th anniversary of relations being formalized, the relationship between the two states was considered "strong" and "rapidly growing" by then Chinese ambassador to Botswana, Liu Huanxing. Initially funded and established through a joint venture between the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and Debswana, the college caters for the accountancy and information technology tertiary needs of the country. The Botswana Accountancy College asserts itself as the center of excellence in Southern Africa and beyond. It specializes in areas of accounting, finance, business, management, hospitality, taxation, leisure, and ICT. BAC has two campuses; the main campus is in Gaborone, and the other in Francistown. The Gaborone Campus is located in the Fairgrounds Office Park of south-east Gaborone.

Motsamai Keyecwe Mpho was a Motswana activist and politician. He founded Botswana's first political party in 1960, the Botswana People's Party, then known as the Bechualand People's Party, alongside Klaas Motshidisi, Kgalemang Motsete, and Philip Matante. However, due to conflict within the party, Mpho left and founded the Botswana Independence Party in 1964. He also served as a member of the National Assembly. Some historians believe that Mpho was the first to introduce the term 'Botswana' into formal political vocabulary, replacing the colonialist name of Bechuanaland.

Beata Botlhoko Kasale was a Botswana publisher and founding editor of The Voice Newspaper. With over 30 years in Journalism, Kasale co-founded The Voice Newspaper, formerly The Francistowner Extra, in 1993 together with Donald Laurence Moore in Francistown and commonly referred to as “the mother of the media industry in Botswana”.

The Trans-Kalahari Railway is a planned railway line that will connect the port city of Walvis Bay in Namibia to Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. This proposed railway line aims to improve regional trade and economic development by providing a more efficient and cost-effective transportation route for goods being exported from Botswana, Namibia, and Southern Africa more generally.
