Lewis Lazar is a musician, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and painter based in Paris. He has been active around three musical projects, under his own name, Oracle Sisters and formerly the supergroup Summer Moon. [1]
Prints from his illustrated book, The Book of JibJab, [2] were displayed at the Crypt gallery in London in association with black&BLUE in 2014 and subsequently sold in the UK. [3] His band, Lewis Lazar and the Hydras, performed residencies at Happy Ending [4] and the Leadbelly, [5] and around New York City. He recorded and self released numerous recordings including The Time of the Assassins (2012), produced by Gordon Raphael, [6] and The King O' The Cats (2013). [7]
In 2015 Lewis Lazar signed with Japanese independent record label MAGNIPH and Hostess [8] to release his self produced record Razzmatazz recorded in New York City in Chinatown. The album was completed in 2016 and released in stores in Japan on Saint Patrick's day in 2017 [9] Two singles off the album have been released in Europe. [10]
In 2015, Lazar joined up with Nikolai Fraiture (The Strokes), Tennessee Thomas, and Erika Spring (Au Revoir Simone) to form Summer Moon. In 2015 Summer Moon released an online single "With You Tonight" [11] and performed at the Bowery Ballroom, SXSW, Baby's All Right, and Central Park Summer Fest along with Father John Misty, [12] [13]
In 2017, Lewis moved to Paris and began Oracle Sisters with childhood friend Christopher Willatt releasing their first single "Always" and "I'm You" in 2018. [14] Oracle Sisters were chosen as 'the top 100 essential artists of 2019' by NME. [15]
The Strokes are an American rock band formed in New York City in 1998. The band is composed of lead singer and primary songwriter Julian Casablancas, guitarists Nick Valensi and Albert Hammond Jr., bassist Nikolai Fraiture, and drummer Fabrizio Moretti. They were a leading group of the early-2000s post-punk revival and garage rock revival movements.
The Birds of Prey is a superhero team featured in several American comic book series, miniseries, and special editions published by DC Comics since 1996. The book's premise originated as a partnership between Black Canary and Barbara Gordon, who had adopted the codename Oracle at the time, but has expanded to include additional superheroines. The team name "Birds of Prey" was attributed to DC assistant editor Frank Pittarese in the text page of the first issue. The group is initially based in Gotham City and later operates in Metropolis and then relocates once more to "Platinum Flats", California, a new locale introduced in Birds of Prey in 2008.
JibJab is an American independent digital entertainment studio based in Los Angeles, California. Founded in 1999 by brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis, it first achieved widespread attention during the 2004 US presidential election when their video of George W. Bush and John Kerry singing This Land Is Your Land became a viral hit. Initially known for political and social satire, JibJab produced commercials and shorts for clients such as Sony, Noggin, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, PBS Kids, Sprout, NBC, Qubo, and Disney before focusing on its now-flagship personalized eCard and messaging services. In 2016, its animated sticker-making program – which has been available since 2004 – became the top App Store app by download growth.

Nikolai Philippe Fraiture is an American musician best known as the bassist of the rock band The Strokes. Since co-founding the band in 1998, he has released six studio albums with them. Among other creative projects, Fraiture released a solo record under the name Nickel Eye in 2009 and has been the frontman of the band Summer Moon since 2016.
New York Noise is a one-hour indie-rock music video television program which aired from 2003–2009 on NYC Media in New York and parts of New Jersey and Connecticut. It was created, produced, and edited by Shirley Braha and funded by New York City under the Bloomberg administration. The show was "devoted to music videos, live footage, and high jinx from bands that ride the L train." According to The New York Times, it is "a groundbreaking show that has attracted a loyal following among musicians It is no longer in production since the station's rebranding in 2010, despite a petition and campaign which attempted to save it.
Moshi Moshi Records is a small London-based record label founded in 1998 by Adrian Pike, Michael McClatchey and Stephen Bass. The label has released music by bands including Lykke Li, Fimber Bravo, Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Late of the Pier, Hot Club De Paris, Kate Nash, Florence and the Machine, Architecture in Helsinki, the Wave Pictures, Disclosure, Sweet Baboo, Tilly and the Wall, Blue Foundation, Slow Club, Happyness, and Au Revoir Simone. Mates Of State's 2008 record Re-Arrange Us was Moshi Moshi's 50th release. Adrian Pike left the set up within a couple of years leaving McClatchey and Bass to carry on the business. These days it also includes a Management Company who manage Metronomy, Teleman, Slow Club and Sweet Baboo among others and has publishing interests in conjunction with Tummy Touch Music, Eagle-I Music and Blue Mountain Music.
Au Revoir Simone is an American indie pop band from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2003. The group is composed of Erika Forster (vocals/keyboard), Annie Hart (vocals/keyboard/bass) and Heather D'Angelo.

Nice as Fuck (NAF) is an all-female indie rock supergroup made up of Jenny Lewis, Erika Forster, and Tennessee Thomas. The band first performed at a rally for U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders in April 2016 and went on to make their television debut in July 2016 on a live episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert during the 2016 Republican National Convention.
