Li Tchoan King (born in China on 6 May 1904; died in Toulon on 19 August 1971) was a Chinese-born draughts player and former French national champion. [1]

Draughts Board game

Draughts or checkers is a group of strategy board games for two players which involve diagonal moves of uniform game pieces and mandatory captures by jumping over opponent pieces. Draughts developed from alquerque. The name 'draughts' derives from the verb to draw or to move, whereas 'checkers' derives from the checkered board which the game is played on.

International draughts

International draughts is a strategy board game for two players, one of the variants of draughts. The gameboard comprises 10×10 squares in alternating dark and light colours, of which only the 50 dark squares are used. Each player has 20 pieces, light for one player and dark for the other, at opposite sides of the board. In conventional diagrams, the board is displayed with the light pieces at the bottom; in this orientation, the lower-left corner square must be dark.

Checkerboard

A checkerboard or chequerboard is a board of chequered pattern on which draughts (checkers) is played. Most commonly, it consists of 64 squares (8×8) of alternating dark and light color, typically green and buff, black and red, or black and white. An 8×8 checkerboard is used to play many other games, including chess, whereby it is known as a chessboard. Other rectangular square-tiled boards are also often called checkerboards.

International Mind Sports Association

The International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) is an association of the world governing bodies for contract bridge, chess, draughts (checkers), go, xiangqi, and mahjong. Its members are the World Bridge Federation (WBF), World Chess Federation (FIDE), World Draughts Federation (FMJD), International Go Federation (IGF), World Xiangqi Federation (WXF), Mahjong International League (MIL) and Federation of Card Games (FCG). IMSA is a member of SportAccord and was founded 19 April 2005 during the GAISF General Assembly. It is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

World Draughts Federation

The Fédération Mondiale du Jeu de Dames is the international body uniting national draughts federations. It was founded in 1947 by four Federations: France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.

2008 World Mind Sports Games

The first World Mind Sports Games (WMSG) were held in Beijing, China from October 3 to 18, 2008, about two months after the Olympic Games. They were sponsored and organised by the International Mind Sports Association with the General Administration of Sport of China and the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Sport.

The 2012 World Mind Sports Games were held in Lille, France, from 9 to 23 August 2012. The meet started during the 2012 Summer Olympics and ending shortly before the 2012 Summer Paralympics, both in London. This was the second rendition of the World Mind Sports Games, inaugurated 2008 in Beijing.

The Draughts World Championship is the world championship in international draughts and is held every two years. In the even year following the tournament, the World Title match takes place. The men's championship began in 1885 in France and since 1948 it's organised by the World Draughts Federation (FMJD). The men's championship has had winners from the Netherlands, Canada, the Soviet Union, Senegal, Latvia, and Russia.

Lubabalo Nicholas Kondlo is a player of English draughts from South Africa. He holds the title of grandmaster, and is the current world champion in the GAYP version.

2015 Womens World Draughts Championship

The 2015 Women's World Draughts Championship at the international draughts was held May 11–24, 2015 in Wuhan, China International Draughts Federation FMJD. Sixteen female players in total will be competing in the tournament. The tournament started on May 11, 2015, and will end on May 24, 2015. It will be played as a round-robin, with 15 rounds in total, each of which be micro-match from two games. The winning prize for the tournament is 20,000 euros.

The Women's Draughts World Championship is the world championship in international draughts organized by the World Draughts Federation (FMJD). The championship occurs every two years. In the even year following the tournament must take place the World Title match.

Hanqing Zhao is a Chinese draughts player, who ranked second at the 2012 Asian Women's Draughts Championship. She became World Draughts Champion Juniors Girls 2012. She has become the champion of China many times. Zhao is an International master (MIF). At 7 years-of-age, she begin playing in checkmate. After that she started playing draughts.

You Zhang is a Chinese draughts player, who ranked first at the 2015 Asian Women's Draughts Championship. She took place in 2012 World Mind Sports Games, in 2015 Women's World Draughts Championship ,in 2019 Women's World Draughts Championship. You Zhang is an Women's International grandmaster (GMIF).
