Lia Ryan McHugh (born November 18, 2005) [1] [2] is an American actress. She has roles in Totem (2017), The Lodge , and Into the Dark (both 2019). She portrayed Sprite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Eternals (2021).

Early life

McHugh was born in November 2005 [1] [2] in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, into an acting family. She has three older siblings—Flynn, Logan and Shea—and a younger sibling, Gavin, who has cerebral palsy. [3] Gavin is also an actor and plays Christopher Diaz in the drama series 9-1-1. [4]

Career

McHugh has spent the majority of her career appearing in horror projects; A Haunting , Totem , Along Came the Devil, The Lodge , Into the Dark , and A House on the Bayou . [5] She portrayed Sprite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals , which was released in November 2021. [6]

Eternals is a 2021 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics race the Eternals. The film was directed by Chloé Zhao, who wrote the screenplay with Patrick Burleigh, Ryan Firpo, and Kaz Firpo. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on superhero films/other series starring various titular superheroes independently produced by Marvel Studios: based on characters that appear in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The shared universe, much like the original Marvel Universe in comic books, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters. Due to the galaxy-spanning nature of the franchise, multiple different species have been introduced.
