Liam Benzvi is an American singer-songwriter and composer. [1] Benzvi has released two solo EPs, Amnesia, USA and Covers, and two solo LPs, Acts of Service and ...And His Splash Band. [2] [3] Benzvi has released two albums with the band Strange Names. [4] He lives and works in New York.

Benzvi attended New York's LaGuardia High School and he went on to study at the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater BFA Actor Training Program. [6]

Benzvi, Francis Ximenez, and Fletcher Aleckson are founding members of the Brooklyn-based new wave-pop band Strange Names. [8] The band has released two LPs, Use Your Time Wisely (Frenchkiss Records, 2015) and Data (Frenchkiss Records, 2018). [9] The band opened for a number of New York-based musicians, including his former classmate Azealia Banks. He lists Indoor Life, Lizzy Mercier Descloux, Patrick Cowley, and Tuxedomoon as musical inspirations for the band. [10]
His first solo EP, Amnesia, USA, was released in 2019 under Terrible Records.
Benzvi's first solo LP, Acts of Service, was released in 2022 under Terrible Records. The 10-track album was co-produced by Wet's Joe Valle. A music video for the single, "Hiccup", was directed by Luca Venter.
In 2022, Benzvi performed alongside Dev Hynes on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Hynes, Tariq Al-Sabir, Eva Tolkin, and Ian Isiah at Madison Square Garden as part of Harry Styles's Love on Tour. [11] He has opened for other artists such as Janelle Monáe, Yeasayer, Porches, the Drums, and Wet. [12]
Benzvi's second solo EP, Covers, was released in December 2024 through Fat Possum Records. [13]
The musician cites Cyndi Lauper, The B-52's, Siouxsie Sioux, the Cure, Blonde Redhead, Frou Frou, and Madonna's early 2000 albums as influences.[ citation needed ]

Toadies are an American rock band formed in 1989 in Fort Worth, Texas, best known for the song "Possum Kingdom". Frou Frou are an English electronic duo composed of musician Imogen Heap and producer/songwriter Guy Sigsworth. They released their only album, Details, in 2002. The duo wrote, produced, and played instruments on the tracks, while Heap also provided lead vocals. In 2004, they recorded a cover of "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler, which was used in the credits of the 2004 film Shrek 2. Frou Frou amicably disbanded later that year.

Alcest is a French post-black metal band from Bagnols-sur-Cèze, founded and led by Neige. It began in 2000 as a black metal solo project by Neige, then became a trio, but members Aegnor and Argoth left the band following the 2001 release of their first demo, leaving Neige as the sole member. Neige began incorporating elements of shoegaze and post-metal into the project's sound from 2005 onwards. In 2009, drummer Winterhalter from Les Discrets joined Alcest, after eight years with Neige as its sole full-time member.

Devonté Hynes, also known as Blood Orange and formerly Lightspeed Champion, is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and director based in New York City. From 2004 to 2006, Hynes was a member of the band Test Icicles, playing guitar, synth, and occasionally performing vocals. They released one full-length album in 2005. Hynes went on to release two solo studio albums as Lightspeed Champion and subsequently five more as Blood Orange, between 2008 and 2019.
The Antlers is an American indie rock band based in Brooklyn, New York. The band's songs are written and sung by Peter Silberman. Their music is performed by Silberman and Michael Lerner (drums). The lineup formerly featured Darby Cicci. The band's instrumentation typically consists of vocals, electric guitar, keyboards/synths, drums and an array of other instruments including piano, horns, strings, and electronic elements. Silberman has said that the band's name is taken from The Microphones' song "Antlers".
Destroyalldreamers was a Canadian four-piece instrumental post-rock band from Montreal consisting of guitarists Eric Quach and Mathieu Grisé, drummer Shaun Doré and former bassist Michèle Martin. Their sound has often been described as a mix of classic 1990s shoegazing with Godspeed You! Black Emperor-like aesthetics. They released two full-length studio albums, both of them on Montreal's independent record label Where Are My Records.
Porcelain Raft is Mauro Remiddi's main music project. The New York-based musician began his long, prolific career in Italy, the place of his birth, playing for small, local projects. After composing the original soundtrack for the 1997 Italian short-film La Matta dei Fiori, and collaborating and touring the world with various bands, Remiddi launched his first solo recording project under the moniker Porcelain Raft, and in 2010 released his first solo EP Gone Blind with Acéphale Records. In 2011 he signed with Secretly Canadian and released the debut Porcelain Raft full-length record Strange Weekend which peaked at #33 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers Albums chart. Permanent Signal, Porcelain Raft's second album was released on Secretly Canadian in August 2013.
Girlpool was an indie rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed by friends Avery Tucker and Harmony Tividad. Their debut self-titled EP Girlpool was released on Bandcamp in 2014 and re-released on Wichita Recordings later that year. They released their debut album Before the World Was Big in 2015, followed by Powerplant (2017) and What Chaos Is Imaginary (2019). Their fourth and final studio album, Forgiveness (2022), was released on April 29. In August 2022, the duo announced that they will be taking an indefinite break from the band.
