The Lidl Unihockey Prime League is the highest league in Swiss floorball. [1]

Contents

Between the season 2007–08 and 2012–13 the league was called Swiss Mobiliar League (SML). It was named after the insurance company Mobiliar.

Since the Season 2022–23 it is called Lidl Unihockey Prime League (L-UPL). [2] Prior to 2007 and between 2013 and 2022 it was called Nationalliga A (NLA).

The men's L-UPL is composed of twelve teams and the women's league of ten teams (eight until season 2016–17). The lower league is called National League B. [3] The champions of both leagues are eligible to compete at the Champions Cup. [4]

EHC Kloten is an ice hockey team based in the city of Kloten in Switzerland. The team plays in the National League (NL). It has one of the best youth systems in Swiss ice hockey as its youth teams have won 19 championships during the last 50 years. EHC Kloten won four consecutive Swiss championships from 1993 to 1996. They had never been relegated until the 2017–18 season. They returned to the NL following the 2021-22 season.

Larry Robert Huras, is a Canadian ice hockey coach and a former player. He played 2 games in the National Hockey League with the New York Rangers during the 1976–77 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1975 to 1994, was mainly spent in the French league. After his playing career Huras turned to coaching, and spent several years in the Nationalliga A, the top league in Switzerland.

The Women's League, also known as the PostFinance Women's League (PFWL) for sponsorship reasons, is the premier ice hockey league in the Swiss Women's Hockey League (SWHL) system. The league was founded in 1986 as the Leistungsklasse A, abbreviated LKA, and was also officially known as the Ligue nationale A in French and the Lega Nazionale A in Italian, both abbreviated as LNA. During 2014 to 2019, the league was called the Swiss Women's Hockey League A, abbreviated SWHL A; the abbreviation continues to be used by the league following the 2019 name change. The Fussball Club Basel 1893 1984–85 season was their 91st season since their foundation. It was their 39th consecutive season in the top flight of Swiss football since their promotion in the 1945–46 season. FC Basel played their home games in the St. Jakob Stadium. For the second year running the club's chairman was Urs Gribi.

The 2017–18 National League season is the 80th season of Swiss professional ice hockey and the first season as the National League (NL). The change from National League A to National League was made at the end of the 2016–17 season.

The 2019–20 Swiss League season was the 73th season of Switzerland's second tier hockey league.

The 2023–24 Men's Floorball Champions Cup was the 29th edition of the premier competition for floorball clubs. The reigning champions were IBF Falun. Tatran Střešovice became the first Czech team to win the cup by beating IBF Falun 6–4 in Prague.
