Lidwina Ndeshimona Shapwa is a Namibian legal expert and politician who served Namibia in various capacities. She was born on February 7, 1962, in Outapi, Omusati region in Namibia. [1]
Shapwa educational background ranges from obtaining a Master of Laws (LLM) in Maritime Law from the Maritime Law Institute in Malta, a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) with Honours from the University of Warwick in the UK, and a Diploma in Development from the same institution. She also obtained a Diploma in Development Studies from the United Nations Institute for Namibia. [1]
Shapwa began her career in public service as a Control Officer in Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Works, Transport, and Communications from 1992 to 1994. She then served as deputy director of Maritime Affairs from 1994 to 1998 and as Deputy Permanent Secretary from 1998 to 2000. She was then appointed as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, where she served from 2000 to 2007. After that, she served as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Lands and Resettlement from 2007 to 2014. [2]
Shapwa's dedication and hard work earned her a position in the National Assembly as Deputy Minister of Justice in 2019, where she served until 2020. She is currently serving as the National Disability Council of Namibia Board of Directors' chairperson. [3] [4]

Pendukeni "Penny" Iivula-Ithana is a Namibian politician who served as the secretary general of SWAPO, Namibia's ruling party, from 2007 to 2012. She was a member of the Constituent Assembly of Namibia in 1989 and has been a member of Parliament and member of cabinet since independence in 1990.

Lucia Witbooi is a Namibian politician and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security. A member of SWAPO, Witbooi was elected to the Namibia's National Assembly in the 2009 general election. Prior to entering the National Assembly, Witbooi was a teacher in Gibeon, Hardap Region. Julia Sebutinde is a Ugandan judge serving her second term on the International Court of Justice following her re-election on November 12, 2020. Susana Myrta Ruiz Cerutti is an Argentinian lawyer, diplomat, and politician, who occupied the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship (canciller) during the presidency of Raúl Alfonsín, from May 26 to July 8, 1989. Ester-Anna-Liisa Shiwomwenyo Nghipondoka is a Namibian politician and member of SWAPO. She was appointed the Minister of Education, Arts and Culture in March 2020 after having worked as deputy minister with the same portfolio since 2015.In 2021 under her ministry they have implemented a new education curriculum called Advanced Subsidiary(AS). She further stated in 2022 that the new curriculum is not a bad. Nghipondoka also encouraged the teachers to embrace the new curriculum despise the challenges it has.
Emma Inamutila Theofelus is a Namibian politician, currently serving as deputy Minister of Information, Communication and Technology. Theofelus was 23 years old at the time of her appointment in March 2020 and is the current youngest woman government minister in both Africa and Namibia.
