Cayne performed in New York City nightclubs in drag since the 1990s, and came out as transgender in 1996; Cayne came to national attention in 2007 for portraying transgender mistress Carmelita on ABC's prime time drama Dirty Sexy Money. The role makes Cayne the first transgender actress to play a recurring transgender character in primetime. She is perhaps best known for her recurring role as the Fairy Queen on the fantasy series The Magicians.

The song, produced by and featuring Kanye West, finds the Game criticizing, by both name and alias, up-and-coming and established video vixens. "Wouldn't Get Far" peaked at number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and reached numbers 11 and 26 on the Billboard Hot Rap Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts, respectively.
Kanary Diamonds, born September 2, 1989, as Johnean Jimenez in Watts, California, is an American rapper and entertainer. Diamonds worked as a dancer in videos and after becoming a member of a Destiny's Child-styled group that never made it off the ground, Diamonds got her big break when she landed a guest spot on Mack 10's 2005 album, Hustla's Handbook with the song “By the Bar.” She made an appearance on Chingy's Hoodstar album and then her song was in the movie and on the soundtrack to the film Waist Deep. There is also the emergence of the mami video vixen, who is the glamorized, hyper-sexualized version of an attractive Latina woman that is seen in rap videos. The image of mami that is the most popular in rap culture is the butta pecan mami, a term coined by Raquel Z. Rivera, which refers to a Latina woman who has light golden colored skin and "good" (European-type) hair.

Jaren Kyei Merrell, known professionally as Shea Couleé, is an American drag queen, musician, actor, podcaster, and fixture of the Chicago nightlife scene. Born in Warsaw, Indiana, they began their drag career in 2012. In 2017, Couleé achieved international fame after competing on season nine of RuPaul's Drag Race, placing in the top four. In 2020, Couleé won the fifth season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. Couleé later returned to compete on the all-winners seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2022, once again placing in the top four.

She is the founder of Black Girl Magic, a drag show consisting of only African-American queens. In August 2020, she released Commercial Break, her debut album.
The Chicago Is a Drag Festival is an annual drag festival in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is the first drag-centered festival in the Midwest. The festival showcases drag acts from all different genres, including drag kings, pageant queens, comedy and camp, performers who dance and lip sync, and emcees. Organizers purposely booked a diverse lineup including people of color, trans and nonbinary people, and a mix of longtime performers and newcomers.
