Lily Sobhani (born 15 October 1976) is a live events producer who specializes in producing large, internationally broadcast music events, often with a charity component. [1]
Sobhani was born on 15 October 1976 in Norfolk, England.
Her first major production as an executive producer was the original Fairplay concert in 2002 for Oxfam's Make Trade Fair campaign. She produced through her company Bottle, [2] with partners Emily Eavis and Marianne Troup.
In June 2005, Sobhani was called upon by the Make Poverty History coalition to execute a concert in Japan for the Live 8 concert series. [3]
Sobhani was Worldwide Head of Events, [4] [5] responsible for the delivery of all Live Earth music concerts. [6]
Most recently, Sobhani produced the inaugural Official FIFA 2010 World Cup Kickoff Celebration Concert, [7] [8] which opened the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament on 10 June. It featured live performances from Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Alicia Keys, John Legend and Juanes. Additionally, a range of African artists such as Amadou & Mariam, Angelique Kidjo, BLK JKS, and Tinariwen also performed. [9]
Sobhani produced the American reboot of The Secret Policeman's Ball at the Radio City Music Hall in New York on 4 March 2012, a celebration of Amnesty International's 50th Anniversary.

The Secret Policeman's Ball is a series of benefit shows staged initially in the United Kingdom to raise funds for the human rights organisation Amnesty International. The shows started in 1976 featuring popular British comedians but later included leading musicians and actors. The Secret Policeman's Ball shows are credited by many prominent entertainers with having galvanised them to become involved with Amnesty and other social and political causes in succeeding years.

"Wavin' Flag" is a song by Somali-Canadian artist K'naan from his album Troubadour (2009). The song was originally written for Somalia and aspirations of its people for freedom. The original single was a hit in Canada and reached number two on the Canadian Hot 100 as the second official single from the album, after the single "ABCs", a minor hit. After an earthquake in Haiti in 2010, a remake of the song by an ad hoc supergroup of Canadian artists, credited as Young Artists for Haiti, became a charity single in Canada, reaching number one on the Canadian Hot 100 in its own right.

He was the show producer, lighting and set designer for the Spice Girls live shows including the massive, international Spiceworld tour and the Christmas in Spiceworld tour. He designed the lighting for Live 8 and his design was used around the world for all major Live 8 venues with an estimated worldwide audience of 3 billion people.
