Linzy Cole (April 21, 1948 – September 21, 2016) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver for three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Bears, Houston Oilers and Buffalo Bills. [1] He played in a total of 31 career games. Cole was the first black football player at TCU. At TCU, he was a First-Team All-SWC selection and the Rogers Trophy award winner. He is TCU leader in career return average in a season. He closed out his career playing in the 1969 Blue-Grey game. [2] [3]
Samuel Adrian Baugh was an American football player and coach. During his college and professional careers, he most notably played quarterback, but also played as a safety and punter. He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, where he was a two time All-American. He then played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins for 16 seasons from 1937 to 1952. After his playing career, he served as a college coach for the Hardin–Simmons Cowboys before coaching professionally for the New York Titans and the Houston Oilers.
LaDainian Tarshane Tomlinson is an American former football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. After a successful college football career with the TCU Horned Frogs, the San Diego Chargers selected him as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft. He spent nine years with the Chargers, earning five Pro Bowl appearances, three Associated Press first-team All-Pro nominations, and two NFL rushing titles. Tomlinson was also voted the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2006 after breaking the record for touchdowns in a single season. He played two further seasons with the New York Jets, before retiring. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
Robert David O'Brien was an American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) with the Philadelphia Eagles for two seasons. He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, where he won the Heisman Trophy and the Maxwell Award in 1938, the first quarterback to win either. He was the fourth overall pick of the 1939 NFL draft. O'Brien was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1955.
Charles Collins "Ki" Aldrich was an American football player. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1960.
Lambert Daniel "Little Dutch" Meyer was an American college football player and professional baseball player and manager, as well as the nephew of the famous and similarly named Texas Christian University football coach Leo "Dutch" Meyer.
The TCU Horned Frogs are the athletic teams that represent Texas Christian University. The 18 varsity teams participate in NCAA Division I and in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) for football, competing mostly in the Big 12 Conference. The school was a founding member of the Southwest Conference and was a member of the Western Athletic Conference, Conference USA (CUSA), and the Mountain West Conference before joining the Big 12. Two TCU teams participate outside the Big 12 in sports not sponsored by that conference. The rifle team competes in the Patriot Rifle Conference, and the beach volleyball team moved to CUSA for 2023–24 after having been in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association.
Andrew Gregory Dalton is an American football quarterback for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed "the Red Rifle", he played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, where he became the school's leader in quarterback wins and won the 2011 Rose Bowl. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2011 NFL draft.
Jerry Ray Hughes Jr. is an American football defensive end who is a free agent. He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, where he was twice recognized as a consensus All-American before being selected by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2010 NFL draft. Hughes has also played for the Buffalo Bills, with whom he has played the majority of his pro career, and the Houston Texans.
The 1938 TCU Horned Frogs football team was an American football team that represented Texas Christian University (TCU) in the Southwest Conference (SWC) during 1938 college football season. In their fifth year under head coach Dutch Meyer, the Horned Frogs compiled a perfect 11–0 record, won the SWC championship, finished the season ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll, defeated Carnegie Tech in the 1939 Sugar Bowl, and outscored opponents by a total of 269 to 60. TCU were the consensus national football champions of 1938.
Lindy Berry was an American gridiron football quarterback. He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs at Texas Christian University. Berry was selected in the 1950 NFL Draft, and played professional football for two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos in what later became the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 1950, he received the Jeff Nicklin Memorial Trophy for the CFL West Division's most valuable player.
Marcus Darell Cannon is an American football offensive tackle who is a free agent. Prior to the 2011 NFL draft, Cannon was considered one of the top offensive tackle prospects and was selected by the New England Patriots in the fifth round with the 138th pick of the draft. He played college football at TCU.

Thomas Allison White was an American football guard and tackle who played one season, in 1939, with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Eagles in the 13th round of the 1939 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas Christian University (TCU) and attended Masonic Home School in Fort Worth, Texas. Allie was the first player in Texas high school history to be voted all state three times in high school. While at TCU, he played with both Sammy Baugh and Davey O’Brien. Later, Allie coached for TCU, and his most prized recruit and player was Bob Lilly. He was inducted into the TCU Lettermen's Association Hall of Fame in 1970. He was born in Crosby, Texas.
Josh Doctson is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, earning unanimous All-American honors in 2015. Doctson was selected by the Washington Redskins in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He was also a member of the Minnesota Vikings, New York Jets, and Arizona Cardinals.
