Lilakoi Moon, known professionally as Lisa Bonet, is an American actress and activist. As an actress, Bonet is perhaps best known for work with American actor and comedian Bill Cosby, starring in two of his productions on NBC, The Cosby Show (1984–1992) and A Different World (1987–1993), as the unorthodox, free-spirited Denise Huxtable. After The Cosby Show ended in 1992, Bonet entered a state of semi-retirement from acting, only sporadically appearing in films and on television such as Maya Daniels in Life on Mars (2008-2009) and Marisol on Ray Donovan (2016). She is also known for her acting roles in Angel Heart (1987), High Fidelity (2000), Biker Boyz (2003), and Road to Paloma (2013).

Road to Avonlea is a Canadian television series first broadcast in Canada between January 7, 1990, and March 31, 1996, and in the United States starting on March 5, 1990. The program was created by Kevin Sullivan and produced by Sullivan Films in association with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and the Disney Channel, with additional funding from Telefilm Canada. The Disney Channel began airing the series in the United States on March 5, 1990, and continued airing it in January 1997. The series was loosely adapted from a number of novels by Lucy Maud Montgomery, with many of the series' characters and episodes inspired by her stories.

Clarke served on the Tony Awards Nominating Committee for the 2011–12 Broadway season. Clarke made history in 1995 when she became the first African American, as well as the first African-American woman, to direct and choreograph a major staging of the opera-musical Porgy and Bess. Clarke's production of the George Gershwin classic was staged in celebration of the work's 60h anniversary, and it toured not only major American cities but Japan and Europe as well. Clarke drew critical acclaim for her commitment to staging the show as a monument to African-American community and pride, giving a more hopeful, positive aura to a story that has been criticized for its stereotypes. As for the director herself, the success of Porgy and Bess is just the latest accolade in a long career devoted to dance and drama.
