Lisa Lutoff-Perlo is an American businesswoman. She was the president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, making her the first woman to lead one of the Royal Caribbean Group's cruise line brands.
Lutoff-Perlo was born and raised in Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1979. [1] After high school, she attended Bentley University. [2]
Lutoff-Perlo began her career in the travel industry after seeing a help wanted ad for a travel advisor at Crimson Travel. While with Crimson Travel, she was in constant communication with Royal Caribbean International and learned that there was an open position as a Miami sales manager. [1] In 1985, she was hired as a district sales manager for Royal Caribbean and moved to Miami. [2]
Lutoff-Perlo worked her way up the corporate ladder until she became associate vice president of national and corporate sales for both Celebrity Cruises and Royal Caribbean International. In 2005, she was named vice president of onboard revenue for Celebrity Cruises. [3]
In 2012, Lutoff-Perlo was appointed senior vice president of operations for Royal Caribbean International. [4] She stayed in this position for four years before being promoted to president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises. She became the first woman to lead one of the Royal Caribbean Group's cruise line brands. In her first year as president and CEO, Lutoff-Perlo hired Captain Kate McCue, the first American woman to captain a cruise ship. [5]
In 2017, she was honored as a South Florida “Women of Excellence” by the Cleveland Clinic Florida. [6] The next year, she announced that Celebrity Cruises would become the first cruise line to conduct legal same-sex marriages at sea. [7] This was also the year that Celebrity Edge began operation, a new Celebrity Cruises ship that began a new line of a fleet of ships. [8] [9] In 2019, she was the recipient of the Cruise Lines International Association Lifetime Achievement award. [10]
Royal Caribbean International (RCI), previously known as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line (RCCL), is a cruise line brand founded in 1968 in Norway and organised as a wholly owned subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group since 1997. Marella Explorer 2, formerly Celebrity Century and SkySea Golden Era, was the lead ship of the Century class of cruise ships for Celebrity Cruises, and the co-flagship of the Celebrity fleet, along with Millennium-class ship Celebrity Constellation, and the newest Solstice class, Celebrity Reflection. Other ships belonging to the Century class include Marella Explorer and Mein Schiff 2 (2011).
GTS Celebrity Infinity is a Millennium-class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group. She measures 90,940 GT and 294 m (965 ft) long, and holds a capacity of 2,170 passengers across 12 decks. After Royal Caribbean signed a letter of intent with French shipbuilder Chantiers de l'Atlantique in February 1998, she was floated out in June 2000 and delivered in February 2001, making her the second Millennium-class ship to join the fleet following Celebrity Millennium.
Pullmantur Cruises was a cruise line headquartered in Madrid, Spain. It began operations in the late 1990s as an offshoot of the Madrid-based travel agency Pullmantur. In 2006, Pullmantur Cruises, through its parent company, was purchased by U.S.-based Royal Caribbean Group, but Royal Caribbean later sold a 51% stake in the cruise line to Spain-based investment firm Springwater Capital, retaining a 49% stake.
Celebrity Equinox is a Solstice-class cruise ship built by Meyer Werft in Germany. Celebrity Equinox is the second of the five Solstice-class vessels, owned and operated by Celebrity Cruises. Celebrity Silhouette is a Solstice-class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Group. She was ordered with German shipbuilder Meyer Werft in May 2007 and was delivered in July 2011 as the fourth Solstice-class ship in the fleet.

After the new vessel was ordered with French shipbuilder STX France in December 2014, her keel was laid in June 2017 and she was floated out in January 2018. Upon delivery in October 2018, at 130,818 GT, she became the lead ship of the Edge class and the largest ship by gross tonnage to have joined the Celebrity fleet.

Celebrity Apex is an Edge-class cruise ship operated by Celebrity Cruises, a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. Constructed at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, she is the second vessel in the company's Edge class of ships, following the delivery of her sister ship, Celebrity Edge, in 2018. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, her debut sailing was from Athens on June 19, 2021 to the Greek Islands.
Celebrity Beyond is a cruise ship owned by Celebrity Cruises, taking its name from the company's slogan. The third in the Edge-class, the ship was constructed at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard, and entered service in April 2022. The ship is captained by Kate McCue.
