Grenada is a country in the West Indies in the Caribbean Sea at the southern end of the Grenadines island chain. Grenada consists of the island of Grenada itself plus six smaller islands which lie to the north of the main island. It is located northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, northeast of Venezuela and southwest of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Its size is 348.5 square kilometres (134.6 sq mi), and it had an estimated population of 107,317 in 2016. Its capital is St. George's. Grenada is also known as the "Island of Spice" due to its production of nutmeg and mace crops, of which it is one of the world's largest exporters. The national bird of Grenada is the critically endangered Grenada dove.

Association football Team field sport

Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played with a spherical ball between two teams of eleven players. It is played by 250 million players in over 200 countries and dependencies, making it the world's most popular sport. The game is played on a rectangular field called a pitch with a goal at each end. The object of the game is to score by moving the ball beyond the goal line into the opposing goal.

International career

Jules earned his first international cap at the 2013 Windward Islands Tournament, scoring once during a 2–1 victory over Saint Lucia. [1] [2] He made one more appearance in the competition, against Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Grenada were the eventual champions. He was also called up for the 2014 Windward Islands Tournament, [3] and featured in two games.

Cap (sport) sports game

In sport, a cap is a metaphorical term for a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap.

The 2013 Windward Islands Tournament was an international football tournament between the Windward Islands nations, with the exception of Dominica, which was hosted by St. Vincent between 21 April and 25 April 2013. Matches took place at Victoria Park in Kingstown. The tournament was organised by the Windward Islands Football Association (WIFA) and received financial assistance from CONCACAF. It was the first time that the tournament has been held since 2001. After the three nations were eliminated from 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification and the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup, none of them were scheduled for any international matches. Therefore, the tournament was organized to assess current and future talent. After Dominica withdrew, they were replaced by a team compromised exclusively of players from the NLA Premier League organized by the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation called the "President's XI."

The 2014 Caribbean Cup qualification began in May 2014 and ended in October 2014. The qualification competition determined which national teams can play in the 2014 Caribbean Cup which in turn determines which teams participate in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2016 Copa América Centenario.

In 2017, Jules was selected to represent national team yet again, ahead of friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago and Bermuda, [4] [5] although he stayed on the bench during both matches.

The Trinidad and Tobago national football team, nicknamed the Soca Warriors, represents the twin-island Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in international football. The team is ranked 93rd in the world according to the FIFA Rankings, and 89 in the World Football Elo Ratings.
