Lishan Yegezu Fanta (born 6 October 1985) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who specializes in the half marathon.
He finished thirteenth at the 2005 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships. He thereby helped Ethiopia win a gold medal in the team competition.
His personal best time is 1:01:42 hours, achieved in August 2005 in Addis Ababa,

Kenenisa Bekele Beyecha is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He was the world record holder in both the 5000-metre and 10000-metre from 2004 until 2020. He won the gold medal in both the 5000 m and 10,000 m events at the 2008 Summer Olympics. At the 2004 Olympics, he won the gold medal in the 10,000 m and the silver medal in the 5000 m.
Haile Gebrselassie is an Ethiopian former long-distance track, road running athlete, and businessman. He won two Olympic gold medals and four World Championship titles over the 10,000 metres. Haile triumphed in the Berlin Marathon four times consecutively and also had three straight wins at the Dubai Marathon. Further to this, he earned four world titles indoors and was the 2001 World Half Marathon Champion.

Tamirat Tola Abera is an Ethiopian world champion long-distance runner who competes in track, road and cross country events. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Tamirat competed in the marathon at the 2017 and 2022 World Athletics Championships, earning silver and gold respectively, setting a championship record at the latter in the process. He finished third at the 2021 Tokyo and 2023 London Marathon and won the 2023 New York City Marathon, breaking the course record.
