October Films was a major U.S. independent film production company and distributor founded in 1991 by Bingham Ray and Jeff Lipsky as a means of distributing the 1990 film Life Is Sweet.
Teodor Keko was an Albanian writer, journalist, and politician.
Vasil S. Tole is an Albanian composer, ethnomusicologist and administrator. A proponent of European classical music, his compositions include opera, chamber music, orchestral works and various pieces for small ensembles and solo instruments. He is the author of several books, mostly about the music of Albania.
Kristaq Mitro was an Albanian film director. He was professor at University of Arts, Tirana. He directed Apasionata in 1983 with Ibrahim Muçaj. Mitro died in Vienna on 3 April 2023, at the age of 77.
The National Center of Cinematography is the largest film distributor and film production company in the cinema of Albania connected with over 700 films between 1947 and 2012. The studio has produced and distributed the vast majority of Albanian films. Especially important was its work in the 1970s and 1980s when the studio averaged 75–80 movies per year.

Pjetër Filip Arbnori was an Albanian gulag survivor. He was dubbed "the Mandela of the Balkans" by Albanian statesmen because of the length of his 28-year internment. He was born in Durrës, on the Adriatic coast. President Topi bestowed the Nation's Honor Order upon Pjetër Arbnori.

Rajmonda Bulku is an Albanian actress and former politician of Democratic Party of Albania. She appeared in numerous films and theatres as well as Zonja nga Qyteti, Duaje emrin tënd, Të Paftuarit, Vitet e pritjes, Kthimi i Ushtrisë së vdekur and Vdekja e kalit.
Jusuf Buxhovi, is an Albanian author, journalist, intellectual, and political activist.

Aurel Plasari is an Albanian lecturer, scholar, writer, translator and professor.
Kadrush Radogoshi is an Albanian poet, novelist, play-writer, and literary critic from Kosovo. He is a dissident who opposed the revocation of the autonomy of Kosovo from the Milosevic's regime, consequently being arrested and imprisoned. Radogoshi served as President of Writers' Union of Kosovo. In 2010, he settled in Canada.
