The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league composed of 32 teams, divided equally between the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC). The NFL is one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada and the highest professional level of American football in the world. Each NFL season begins annually with a three-week preseason in August, followed by the 18-week regular season, which runs from early September to early January, with each team playing 17 games and having one bye week. Following the conclusion of the regular season, seven teams from each conference, including four division winners and three wild card teams, advance to the playoffs, a single-elimination tournament, which culminates in the Super Bowl, played in early February between the winners of the AFC and NFC championship games.

The Harlon Hill Trophy is an award in American college football given to the individual selected as the most valuable player in NCAA Division II. The award is named for former University of North Alabama and National Football League player Harlon Hill. It was first given in 1986 to Jeff Bentrim of North Dakota State University. The NFL draft, officially known as the Annual Player Selection Meeting, is an annual event which serves as the most common source of player recruitment in the National Football League. Each team is given a position in the drafting order in reverse order relative to its record in the previous year, which means that the last place team is positioned first and the Super Bowl champion is last. From this position, the team can either select a player or trade its position to another team for other draft positions, a player or players, or any combination thereof. The round is complete when each team has either selected a player or traded its position in the draft. The first draft was held in 1936 and has been held every year since.
Eric Demetric Dickerson is an American former professional football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. Dickerson played college football for the Mustangs of Southern Methodist University and was recognized as an All-American. He was selected second overall in the 1983 NFL draft by the Los Angeles Rams, and later played for the Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons. During his NFL career, he rushed for over 13,000 yards. He holds the NFL's single-season rushing record with 2,105 yards, set in 1984. Dickerson was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999 and, in 2019, was named to the NFL 100th Anniversary All-Time Team. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs of all time. He wore prescription goggles throughout his career due to myopia.

With increasing interest in the NFL Draft, the scouting combine has grown in scope and significance, allowing personnel directors to evaluate upcoming prospects in a standardized setting. Jahri Divine Evans is an American football coach and former football guard who played in the National Football League (NFL). He currently serves as an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints. He played college football for the Bloomsburg Huskies. Evans was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL draft and won Super Bowl XLIV with the team over the Indianapolis Colts. He has also been a member of the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers.
Robert Louis Tucker is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). A 6'3", 230 lbs. tight end from Bloomsburg University, Tucker played for 11 seasons in the NFL, from 1970 to 1980, for the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings.
The Bloomsburg Huskies are the athletic teams that represent Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, located in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. The Huskies are members of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) for 18 of 19 varsity sports; as the wrestling team competes in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) as a member of the NCAA Division I. The Huskies have been a member of the PSAC since its founding in 1951.

The Fishing Creek Confederacy was a military uprising in northern Columbia County, Pennsylvania and southern Sullivan County, Pennsylvania during the American Civil War. Residents of Columbia County strongly opposed military drafts that were being conducted there, leading to widespread desertion and draft evasion. In a Columbia County draft in July 1863, 618 people were drafted. Of these, approximately 75% evaded the draft. On July 30, 1864, several people rode into northern Columbia County from Luzerne County to search for deserters, and one of the riders was shot. By the summer of 1864, rumors had begun to circulate that these deserters and draft evaders, as well as Confederate sympathizers, had built a fort with cannons on North Mountain, not far from the headwaters of Fishing Creek. This fort was supposedly manned by 500 people. Upon hearing these rumors, 1000 soldiers gathered near Bloomsburg, in Columbia County.
Larry Melvin Webster III is an American former professional football defensive end. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL draft. He played college football at Bloomsburg. Webster is the son of former NFL defensive tackle Larry Webster Jr.
Matt Feiler is an American professional football guard. He previously played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also played baseball in high school before deciding to play college football at Bloomsburg.
The 2000 UC Davis football team represented the University of California, Davis as an independent during the 2000 NCAA Division II football season. Led by eighth-year head coach Bob Biggs, UC Davis compiled an overall record of 12–1. 2000 was the 31st consecutive winning season for the Aggies. UC Davis was ranked No. 1 in West Region of the NCAA Division II poll at the end of the regular season and advanced to the NCAA Division II Football Championship playoffs for the fifth straight year. The Aggies defeated Chadron State, ranked fourth in the West Region, in the first round and Mesa State, ranked third in West, in the quarterfinals before losing in semifinal round to the third-ranked team in the Northeast Region, Bloomsburg. The team averaged 48 points per game, outscoring their opponents 622 to 258 for the season. The Aggies played home games at Toomey Field in Davis, California.
The 2020 NFL draft was the 85th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible players for the 2020 NFL season. The first round was held on April 23, followed by the second and third rounds on April 24. The draft concluded with rounds 4–7 on April 25. The NFL originally planned to hold the event live in Paradise, Nevada, before all public events related to it were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, all team selections took place via videoconferencing with league commissioner Roger Goodell broadcasting picks from his home.
Shakir Jammal Soto is an American football defensive tackle. He played college football for the University of Pittsburgh. After going undrafted in the 2017 NFL draft, Soto signed as a free agent with the Denver Broncos. Over the course of four years in the NFL, Soto was signed to the Las Vegas Raiders, Dallas Cowboys, and Seattle Seahawks.
