The M:tel First League of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a football league in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Together with the First League of the Republika Srpska, it forms the second level of football in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Fudbalski klub Rudar Kakanj is a professional association football club from the city of Kakanj that is situated in Bosnia and Herzegovina. FK Rudar was founded on 3 May 1920 in the city of Kakanj.
Fudbalski klub Velež Mostar is a professional football club based in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The club has a history of being one of the most successful clubs from Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was founded on 26 June 1922. The club currently plays at Rođeni Stadium, but its historic stadium is the Bijeli Brijeg. Due to the divisions between Bosniak and Croat territories, Velež lost its previous home ground of Bijeli Brijeg. That stadium was largely used by Velež during the glory days of the club, when they triumphed in the 1981 and 1986 Yugoslav Cups. The club also reached the quarter-final stage of the 1974–75 UEFA Cup.
The 2007–08 Premijer Liga season, the eighth since its establishment and the sixth as a unified country-wide league, began on 4 August 2007. FK Sarajevo are the defending Premijer Liga champions, having won their first Premijer Liga title and fourth league championship overall the previous season.
Association football is the most popular sport in Bosnia and Herzegovina since after gaining independence from Yugoslavia in 1991, in 1995 they played their first international game against Albania, but they made the debut at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, their first ever appearance in the tournament. The popular team that is supported is FK Sarajevo.

The 2009–10 Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the tenth season since its establishment and the eighth as a unified country-wide league. It began on 1 August 2009 and will end in May 2010. Zrinjski Mostar were the defending champions.

The 2015–16 Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, also known as BH Telecom Premier League for sponsorship reasons, is the sixteenth season of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the highest football league of Bosnia and Herzegovina, since its original establishment in 2000 and fourteenth as a unified country-wide league. The league began 25 July 2015 and will end 14 May 2016, with a winter break between 7 December 2015 and 27 February 2016. The official fixture schedule was released on 10 July 2015. In the 2015–16 season, six teams will be relegated as the league decided to reduce the number of participants from the current 16 to 12 for the 2016–17 season.
