The CaymanIslands is a self-governing British Overseas Territory, and the largest by population. The 264-square-kilometre (102-square-mile) territory comprises the three islands of Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, which are located south of Cuba and north-east of Honduras, between Jamaica and Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. The capital city is George Town on Grand Cayman, which is the most populous of the three islands.

Under Pugh, they advanced 13 places in the rankings, winning four out of their six matches during the 2019–20 Nations League season.

The team is organised by the Cayman Islands Cricket Association, which has been an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) since 2002, having previously been an affiliate member since 1997.
Truman Bodden Sports Complex is a multi-use complex in George Town, Cayman Islands. It is named after Truman Bodden, a former Caymanian politician. The complex is separated into an outdoor, 6-lane 25-metre swimming pool, full purpose track and field and basketball/netball courts. The field surrounded by the track is used for football matches as well as other field sports. The track-and-football stadium holds 3,000 people.
Latinos Football Club is a Cayman Islands football club based in George Town, which currently play in the Cayman Islands Premier League. The club plays home matches at the Annex Stadium in George Town. For the 2017/2018 Season both the CIFA Fosters First Division teams and the Cayman Islands Premier League teams will compete in one combined league with matches starting on October 14, 2017.
The Bahamas national rugby union team represent the Bahamas in the sport of rugby union. The team have thus far not qualified for a Rugby World Cup, but have participated in qualifying tournament. The nation is classified as tier three by the International Rugby Board (IRB).

The 2018–19 Cayman Islands Premier League was the 40th season of the Cayman Islands Premier League, the top division football competition in the Cayman Islands. The season began on 3 November 2018. The season ended on 17 March 2019 and Scholars International won their 12th league title.
The Bahamas cricket team toured the Cayman Islands in April 2022 to play a five-match Twenty20 International (T20I) matches against the Cayman Islands. The series was played in George Town, with the first two matches at the Jimmy Powell Oval and the remaining three matches at the Smith Road Oval. The Cayman Islands won all of the matches to take the series 5–0.
