Nobita wants to go to fishing because Gian and Suneo caught a lot of fish at the nearby river. Nobita asks his mom if he could go to fishing, but his mom says he is clumsy and can easily fall into the river. So Doraemon uses the gadget, Mobile Fishing Lake. But there is so much trouble using the gadget that they fail to catch any fish.

Shizuka invites Nobita to her house to play, but Sewashi makes a trip to Nobita and shows him an album. Inside the album is a phot of Nobita injured badly. Sewashi warns them that its going to happen today if Nobita isn't careful enough. He tells Nobita to stay in his house and not go to Shizuka's.

Nobita's dad tells them of the time when he had to work all day without any rest. He tells them that one day, after a long day of work, he came by the river. He was very tired and hungry. Then all of a sudden a young girl of his age, with a fair complex, long black hair and big round eyes came to his aid like an angel in disguise. She pitied him, and therefore gave him a bar of delicious chocolate and went away into the woods. He never saw that girl ever again. Doraemon and Nobita, wondering what she looked like, decide to go to the past and find out the truth, and take a picture to show dad.
