The history of North Macedonia encompasses the history of the territory of the modern state of North Macedonia.
The Vardar or Axios is the longest river in North Macedonia and a major river in Greece, where it reaches the Aegean Sea at Thessaloniki. It is 388 km (241 mi) long, out of which 76 km (47 mi) are in Greece, and drains an area of around 25,000 km2 (9,653 sq mi). The maximum depth of the river is 4 m (13 ft).

Eternal derby, also known as the Macedonia derby, is the name given to matches between the two most popular clubs from North Macedonia, the Skopje-based FK Vardar and Bitola-based FK Pelister, supported by Komiti and Čkembari respectively, with fans at times infamously engaging in hooliganism during the derby.
The 2013–14 Macedonian First League was the 22nd season of the Macedonian First Football League, the highest football league of Macedonia. Vardar are the defending champions after winning their seventh Macedonian championship at the end of the 2012–13 season. It began on 4 August 2013 and ended on 18 May 2014. This was the final season with 12 teams, because the Football Federation of Macedonia approved reducing the league to 10 teams. Therefore, 4 teams was directly relegated.
The 1994–95 season was the 47th season in Vardar’s history and their third in the Macedonian First League. Their 1st place finish in the 1993–94 season meant it was their 3rd successive season playing in the First League.
