The Baseball-Bundesliga is the professional elite competition for the sport of baseball in Germany. In it, the men's German championship is determined annually. Like most European sports leagues, the Bundesliga uses a system of promotion and relegation. The highest division of the Bundesliga currently consists of thriteen teams in two divisions, with each team playing four games against each other team. The league is regulated by the German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV).

The Mannheim Tornados are a professional baseball and softball club from Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1975, it is the oldest continuing baseball club in Germany. The first men's team plays in the first division of the Baseball Bundesliga and has won 11 championships, the most of any club to reach the top tier of German baseball. The team won every championship between 1984 and 1989. However, the Tornados have not won a championship since 1997, though they perennially make the playoffs.
Regensburg Legionäre e.V., commonly referred to as Regensburg Legionäre, is a baseball and softball club from Regensburg, Bavaria. The team is currently known as Guggenberger Legionäre, being sponsored by a construction company from Mintraching. Between 2008 and 2020 the team was called Buchbinder Legionäre after a car rental company.
Heidenheim Heideköpfe is a German baseball and softball club from Heidenheim an der Brenz, Baden-Württemberg. The club was established in 1992 as the baseball arm of Heidenheimer Sportbund (SB), a parent organization that contains several clubs in different sports, and played its first season in 1993 in the Baden-Württemberg District League. The first men's team was promoted to the first division of the Baseball Bundesliga for the 2001 season and has played there in every season since, winning championships in 2009, 2015, 2017 and 2019.
The Solingen Alligators are a German baseball and softball club from Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The club was founded in 1991 and the first men's team was promoted to the first division of the Baseball Bundesliga for the 2003 season. It has played there in every season since, winning the league championship in 2006 and 2014. The club claims over 250 members.
The 2012–13 DFB-Pokal was the 70th season of the annual German football cup competition. It began on 17 August 2012 with the first of six rounds and ended on 1 June 2013 with the final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. The defending champions were Borussia Dortmund, but they were beaten by Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals. Bayern Munich went on to win the competition, defeating VfB Stuttgart 3–2 in the final, ultimately going on to conquer the continental treble. As runners-up, VfB Stuttgart have qualified for the third qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League, since Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga and thus gained the right to compete in the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League.
Euro League Baseball (ELB) was a professional baseball league in Europe founded by the European Association of Professional Baseball (EAPB) which played a single season in 2016. The winner of the ELB was awarded the Gregory Halman Trophy. ELB played its inaugural season in 2016 with three teams: Draci Brno, Haar Disciples and Buchbinder Legionäre Regensburg. The league's only championship was awarded to Draci Brno.
